Well, here it is. For the 2nd time in seven days we are meeting up with our hated rival in Dallas. The weight of more than a decade without a playoff win again has shifted to just one day. I am counting the hours now and tomorrow is big time for Cowboys fans. Just wanted to get some thoughts from everyone else. My prediction- Dallas 27 Philly 20 Why Dallas wins..... The Cowboys defense is absolutely on fire. Not allowing a point in 8 quarters. Including the shutout of the very same Eagles last week. While I don't expect them to shut Philly out, they are hot, and should keep them under 23 or 24. The Cowboys host 2 solid corners that both have speed. Mike Jenkins is becoming an absolute stud. I think the old Eagles D led by Jim Johnson has pretty much died and gone away. The Eagles D has holes and the Cowboys need to run the ball effectively. Hopefully Wade continues the trend of less Roy Williams and more Kevin Ogletree/Crayton/Hurd etc. The offense for the Boys has been erratic, but I expect them to score enough to win. The Cowboys have to stay balanced offensively. Key Players- 2nd year guys Jenkins and Felix Jones. Jenkins will be responsible for Desean Jackson a lot and Felix Jones is the home run hitter on an offense that sometimes struggles to find big gains. WHY the Eagles could win- Because Philly is a damn good team, and Tony Romo is due for a bad game (been great lately) As far as monkeys on back go, this is it.
Cowboys have way more offensive weapons right now than the Eagles, but the Eagles have Desean Jackson. Its hard to pick the Boys though since Romo hasn't won a playoff game yet. Eagles 21 Cowboys 19
I can see the Cowboys winning. But I will root for the Eagles, Donovan is still my favorite player in the league.
Historical streaks don't mean crap unless you are talking about pretty much the same personnel where one team is just better than the other. In this case over the amount of years you are talking about it's just a statistical anomaly that has not bearing on tonights winner. This year, Dallas' defensive front 7 has outplayed the Eagles OL, what should be the strength of their team. The coverage is good, good enough that if McNabb is under pressure he won't be very successful. Dallas's OL has been doing a pretty good job on the Eagles front 7, and to me it looks like their LB corps is highly vulnerable on anything but short yardage situations. If Witten gets LB coverage, he's open. But, all that can be negated with turnovers; so I'll be watching the whole game though my crossed fingers. I sure would like to get this playoff monkey off our backs. Dallas 24 Eagles 17
Looks like Dallas is on a roll but Wade and Romo will find ways to choke. Eagles 27 Cowboys 24 14 years and counting!
Airbullard- Yea oops, that came out wrong. I was referring to the defense and (more) heavy blitzing scheme of course. Didn't catch its double meaning. Anyway, less than 4 hours left.
i had them both as well, won 3rd. i like donovan and would have been happy to have him as my qb... but romo appears to have stepped up his game.
Donovan was my favorite player before Kolb, or I even went to UH. So yes, he's still my favorite. (Matt Schaub might have overtaken him this year, though)
How bout those Cowboys?! Really???? Anybody still think the Eagles win? Anybody? texanskan? Itsmyfault? rocketblood? vaioavan? Moes? Those Eagles have been dominating. Wait its 34-7, Cowboys. Paybacks a b****.
