http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/8...rd-los-angeles-lakers-four-team-deal-complete A four-team trade that would send Dwight Howard to the Los Angeles Lakers is complete, multiple sources told ESPN on Thursday night. A source with direct knowledge of the talks told ESPN.com's Marc Stein the Lakers will receive Howard, the Denver Nuggets will acquire Andre Iguodala, the 76ers will receive Andrew Bynum and Jason Richardson, and the Magic will get Arron Afflalo, Al Harrington, Nikola Vucevic and one protected future first-round pick from each of the other three teams. In addition, the Magic will be getting other pieces, including 76ers No. 1 draft pick Moe Harkless, a source told Stein. Sources close to the process told Stein and ESPNLosAngeles.com's Ramona Shelburne that a trade call with the league office has been scheduled for Friday to secure the necessary NBA approval to make the deal official. Lakers forward Pau Gasol had been in and out of talks, sources told Shelburne. Earlier Thursday, Yahoo! Sports, citing sources, reported that talks of a four-team trade involving Howard have taken place this week and have "grown serious." Sources told ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard that Philadelphia has not spoken to Bynum or his representatives, and has no assurances he will sign a long-term extension with the team. Blog "The Sixers are willing to take a shot (without Bynum's commitment)," one source said. Although Bynum signing an extension with the 76ers is not out of the question, according to a source, his stance all summer has been he only will sign an extension with the Lakers. Bynum, who grew up about an hour away from Philadelphia in Plainsboro, N.J., could sign a three-year, $60 million extension this season or wait to become a free agent after the season and be eligible for a five-year, $102 million deal. Near the end of July, Howard met with Magic general manager Rob Hennigan and reiterated he still wants to be traded, and if he isn't, will leave the team as a free agent after next season. The Lakers' position on Howard has remained relatively unchanged for the past few months, league sources familiar with the situation told ESPNLosAngeles.com. The Lakers always have been willing to trade for Howard without assurances he'd re-sign with them after the season, believing that once Howard experienced a championship culture, he would want to stay. Information from ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard and ESPNLos Angeles.com's Dave McMenamin and ESPNLos Angeles.com's Ramona Shelburne was used in this report.
The reported deal would send Howard to the Lakers, Andre Iguodala going to the Nuggets, Andrew Bynum and Jason Richardson to the Sixers, while the Magic would receive at least Arron Afflalo, Nikola Vucevic, Moe Harkless and a first round pick from each of the other teams. It is unreal how terrible value that is for the Magic.
Wow that's is half of what we can offer but it is better than that garbage that was first reported. If this does go through 1. The Magic are delusional. 2. Lakers are gonna hang another banner. C'mon David you can do it!
All that iv read so far is that the magic are getting rid of Howard a top 5 player and one bad contract in Richardson. I'm sure their will be more details. But I hope they are getting more and are letting go more. For the magic sake because at the moment... It's looking pertty sad for the magic.
Rockets could match if they wanted to. Afflalo-Martin(Oh, and you don't say, Martin on an expiring contract?!) Vucevic-Sorry, we don't have a comparable C but we can throw in one of our twenty power forwards! Harkless-We'll throw in another power forward! 1st round pick from Lakers in 2020 - Bobcats 2nd round pick 1st round pick from Philly - Toronto pick 1st round pick from Nuggets - Dallas pick Al Harrington was reported - Yes, we'll even throw in another power forward if you so desire. It is what it is though.
This is hilarious if true. That must mean Morey said **** off to them b/c Orlando ain't getting **** back and everyone else gets way better. hahaha..pathetic.
I've got to say, I am legitimately flabbergasted at this proposal. Essentially Afflalo and 5 late first rounder equivalents, plus they get rid of only one of their vaunted toxic contracts (J-Rich, the one that isn't really that bad) and take back an arguably worse one in Harrington. Is this really the best they could do? That's really, really atrocious unless "protected" means maybe top 3 protected instead of lottery protected. (Also, if true, STEAL for the Sixers. And Lakers. And really, not so bad for the Nuggets either. Um, seriously Orlando, WTF.)
Magic, biggest star involved in the trade = biggest losers if this goes thru Hennigan is gonna do wonders for the Magic believe you me.
Sixers also made out like bandits here, assuming Bynum resigns. They have a great core young nucleus to build for the future. Iggy wasn't that guy. Lakers have a 2 year window to win (or 1 if Dwight doesn't re-sign). Orlando is stupid.
