I remember back in Orlando D12 had spoke in the press about getting the ball more and SVG said he needed to worry about defending and rebounding and the touches would come. I see what he meant now, because I thought we were getting a much better low post threat than he is and this is as good as its gonna get.

I also am very concerned about all the blowout losses this post season. Is it really feasible for this team to win a title when they come out and get their asses handed to them so often against other good teams like this.

We have to do something about he PG situation there are just too many good PG's in this league now to go to war with what we did this year and I am even speaking of before Beverly was injured. I think ideally we need a legit starter and Beverly to be the backup where he could just ball out and not have to worry about foul trouble and just be a defender to get under players skin. I have no problem with Jet coming back but he needs to be a 15-20 min player at most at this stage of the game, and the fact that we had him and another ancient PG in Pablo trying to check the league MVP pretty much shows why this series was a rout.

We need more consistent 3 pt shooting that has been an issue all year and we need that guy that teams fear being left alone when they double our stars.

Brewer and J-Smoove do you bring one back, both back, or neither back next year. I know J-Smoove has pretty much shown us what he showed the other teams he has been on throughout his career. I know he is really talented, but his basketball IQ is beyond bad and I am not sure you can win a title with a guy like that as a rotation player.

Agreed on his O. Though without his D, we are nowhere near where we are right now.

He was huge this game i think he's 8 for 13 on FT.

LOL - yeah passing it out of bounds over your teamates heads is their fault.

Dwight should have done the simple play or gotten eye contact.

If a guy throws the ball out of bounds - it is his fault.

I disagree, Howard is better than Jordan on both ends of the floor when healthy this season. The knee issues clearly bothered him this season.

Jordan was invisible when the Clippers were choking away that 3-1 lead, Howard statistically is better in most categories.

I think you are suffering from "grass is greener" syndrome. I would probably take Marc Gasol over Howard, but he was largely a no-show this postseason as well.

Howard absolutely killed it this postseason and last.

    Problem isnt Harden or Dwight

The problem is Rockets have no other consistent options who can make tough shots when the game gets tight or either is having an off night.

Dmo was becoming that guy but he got injured. If rockets can get another ballhandler who can score from time to time it will do a lot of good

Ariza tries but it isnt his game
Terry is past that stage b/c of age
Smith can be it at times, but he is more of a 6th or 7th man at this point
Jones will give you that 1 outta every 5 games.....Maybe..

You have the momentum, down by just two, and you try a half court pass? Maybe you should pass it to the ball handler and try to get a good shot off. You can keep defending that decision and act like it was the only right one all you want.

Terry would not have gotten to the ball in time.

Don't expect you to understand what a correct basketball play is judging by the quality of your posts and terrible scouting reports

Oh, you mean the 41 games he missed this year?

Defense is only half of the game. And I already gave him credit for his defense. It's the least he can do for $22 million.

Liability. Can't hit simple free throws. Liable to be hacked at any moment. Do I leave him in or let them keep hacking?

Wah wah wah they're so mean to Dwight!! They're so unfair to Dwight!!

Doesn't matter if it was going to be rescinded or not. (I agree, BS call tonight) If the Rockets kept playing, as we had all hoped, it was a matter of when, not if, he was suspended. 1 point away on flagrants, 1 point away on technicals.

That damn James Harden! How could he disappear in 81 regular season games & 17 postseason games! All that disappearing, it's incredible he finished 2nd in MVP voting and the team even sniffed the Western Conference Finals.

Or just give it to harden and maybe he'll give them the ball. Oh wait he did a record number of times. It's hilarious how a few of you don't get these right plays and are trying to call Dwight out on it

Maybe you should go to the DD school of basketball knowledge and learn from the old grizzled PG.

No excuses for those passes, they were lazy, unnecessary and an extremely poor decision.

Not that it would have made much of a difference with Harden turning the ball over more than a chef making eggs over easy.

Plenty of poor play to go around.

Those were bad plays, but for the most part Dwight played well this game. He even hit over half his free throws.

Harden on the other hand, choked in this game. You could tell early on he didn't want to carry the load. He wasn't looking for his shot and kept throwing the ball away. Game 3 Harden came back. :(

At least you had a chance there instead of throwing it into the crowd. Sorry bruh, you got it wrong. Going to have to agree to disagree.

Yes it is the correct basketball read to throw the ball over everyone's head and out of bounds.

    NOT

Dwight should not be blamed. The guy suited up and played his heart out. When we needed him to box out, he did. When we needed him to dunk. He did. Harden can shove his personal glory somewhere far up where it doesn't shine. He was the only legit big man playing for us and he did a tremendous job at that. I hope Dwight can get healthy enough to take over the reigns.

There have been several references so far to the terrible FT shooting, so much so that it's as prevalent as the PG conversation where weaknesses are concerned.
There is one solution to the FT issue, only one...

Warriors big man at the time, George Johnson, was cured of low FT% by this very approach.

While I'm no Bima where renumeration is concerned Howard and JSmoove (if he sticks around) might consider accepting a re-work of their incentive clauses to specify x dollars for adopting a method that could improve their FT% by 20 points, easy.

Full disclosure: while I've thought of this a lot in the past when watching pitiful Rocket FT performances (starting with Mr. Mean), it took my wife to give voice to the idea. And why not?

Liability. Can't be counted on to give full effort at both ends of the floor throughout the game. Especially defensively and ESPECIALLY when things get tough.

Congrats on the terrific regular season, James! Here's your MVP runner up trophy!
