I wouldn't want to take on Hedo's contract if you give up Griffin. Trade for Richardson, Ryan Anderson, and a pick (with protection of course) along with Howard. Starting five of Paul, J-rich, Butler, Anderson, Howard is title contending. Fill in the rest.
Clippers send: Ryan Gomes (expiring) Mo Williams (expiring) Eric Bledsoe (cheap and young pg) Blake Griffin (exciting young player) DeAndre Jordan (Griffin''s buddy or whatever) 2014 first round pick Clippers receive: Dwight Howard Jason Richardson Glen Davis Hedo Turkoglu That gives Orlando a nice young core and allows them to dump their salaries, the clippers would have a team of Paul Richardson/Nick Young Butler/Turkoglu Davis/Evans Howard get player like Pryzbillia to play 5 minutes at center every night and a backup point guard and that's a great team.
You're dumping most of Orlando's bad contracts on LA. Similar to what one Magic fan proposed between Houston/Orlando.
I guess it's a matter of opinion, but don't you think giving up Deandre Jordan's contract more than makes up for accepting Turkey-Glue's? Hedo has one guaranteed year left while Jordan has 3 years remaining. It almost ends up being a salary dump favoring the Clippers. I think Deandre Jordan is a complete chump who the Clippers couldn't give away for free right now with 3yrs/$33 million guaranteed left. This is why the Magic (not the Clippers) won't make this proposed trade.
Yeah, but Griffin and Jordan sure as hell beats anybody we can offer. With the deal I posted, the only big contract they'd have left would be Jordan's and Blake's (whenever he resigns).
I have a feeling they won't either. But I think a Dwight to Clippers trade is the best for everyone. Howard gets a running mate in Paul and a big market. Dwight is better than Griffin and centers are rarer than power forwards, Magic get back an exciting player. I think Olshey and Sterling are too in love with Griffin though.
I think if we can first get Dwight Howard to come here, then the possibilities to convince him to stay are endless. Even if we get Turkolu, we can use our Amnesty cause and keep him off our cap. In addition to the cap space we will have coming into this summer along with the cap space freed from the amnesty on Turkolu, we will have a lot of money to throw at DWill and others.
Dwight/Ryan Anderson(Sign and Trade) for Griffin/Jordan/Mo Williams (expiring contract once he opts in)... As much as people are ripping Jordan's post season performance, Ryan Anderson -improved player or not--had just as bad of a performance. Clippers new lineup: Howard/Anderson/Butler/Young/CP3 Orlando's new lineup: Jordan/Grffin/Hedo/Richardson/Williams Jameer Nelson will likely opt out of his deal... Orlando won't get a better offer....
yea this is a business decision more than basketbal Paul+ Dwight is contending immediately, but Blake puts more people in seats is cheaper for 2-3 more years and is their main draw. So he won't get traded. just like kobe, his contract obviously the guy is 33, but hes worth 30 million bc he brings in revenue easily worth more than that. Bsketball has two sides and the business side allows more freedom to pursue the basketall court but you have to have your main draws
You are on Fantasy Island if you think the Magic will take Jordan's contract without giving up Hedo's. Asking them to give up Ryan Anderson along with Howard is complete nonsense. Howard >> Griffin and Anderson+extension >>>>>> Jordan+contract. Jordan's net value is a mile underwater. Even if you switch in Hedo for Anderson, the Magic would fools to make the trade because of Jordan's contract and because they have no assurance Griffin would extend with them.
Deandre Jordan is likely overpaid and didn't help his trade value with a weak playoff performance, but i doubt that GM's see Jordan as a lost cause albatross like they see Hedo. Hedo is 33, and played for a quality coach who got a lot from his players. Hedo is what he is and likely won't get better. GMs will take into consideration Jordan age, which at 24 means that he can still improve. Jordan's numbers are actually similar to a young Tyson Chandler who was also once given up to prematurely by the Chicago Bulls and is now defensive player of the year. Jordan also plays for one of the NBA's least respected coaches in VDN, who doesn’t have a defensive system and has given up on limited offensive/defensive players in the past such as Thabo Sefolosha.
