Imagine how great we will be next year, when they change the hacking rules, and we won't have to worry about that nonsense.

Howard was very good on defense. He rebounded, blocked shots, and altered many more. On offense, he was garbage. He got his points through his teammates setting him up for dunks and oops, and some on putbacks. You can't go to him and tell him to score because he has no post moves. In order for this team to make it to Finals, it definitely needs a second scoring option. Howard is DeAndre Jordan except the Clips don't give Jordan the ball in the post because they know he can't score. While, Rockets give him the ball few times to keep his ego going thinking he has post game.

With this team getting another year together we will be a very very good team.
Hope we keep ariza, brew, terry (for leadership) and dmo. Everyone else divide into 1-2 good role players and were set. Losing will only make us stronger!!!

It was sad to see him constantly battling in the paint with absolutely no help.

I agree, 11 years in the league and you still don't have a killer post game or shoot free throws. It's so bad they have to put you on the bench to protect our lead. Wow... You can't be the MVP of the playoffs. You're only contributing to half of the game.

4 playoff series in a row now where Dwight Howard has been our most important and impactful player.

Cracks under pressure? Like scoring 45 points in an elimination game?
And of course he is our de facto PG. What are the alternatives? There are none. Don't get me wrong: He played really poorly in game 5. The NBA playoff record for turnovers is one of the few records you don't want to hold. Fact of the matter is: He had 3 awesome games and 2 awful games against the Warriors. Of course you would want him to be more consistent, but he's only 25 and still has lots of room to grow. Add a playmaker, take some pressure off him, and those really bad games will disappear.

Dwight was really decent defensively but it's more clear to me that he is just not an intelligent basketball player. He's still just an athlete and a declining one at that..... Dwight has the ability to avg 6-7 blocks a game but he's not smart enough and doesn't move his feet enough..... Howard was ok offensively but HE DIDNT MAKE ANY OF HIS OWN MONEY THIS ENTIRE OFFSEASON!!!!! everything was put backs, oops, or spoon fed points..... When we had leads we should have been able to give the ball to our 20 million dollar center to get something but we couldn't.... We got turnovers and fading hooks and toss ups because he was afraid to go into his defender and get those fouls......

Howard put up great number and had some great moments defensively but a lot of those "numbers" had no affect because he could not alleviate any of the pressure offensively.

Give this team a heathy Yao and we win.... No doubt in my mind..... You give harden a heathy Yao and they dominate.....

Dwight played better overall than I initially thought he would going into the playoffs. The fact is, if Dwight is considered the MVP of the Rockets playoffs, it will probably end in disappointment for the team. This team needs it's best player Harden to undoubtedly play like the MVP to truly have a chance at the championship. The series against the Warriors exposed the lack of personnel but it also exposed that Harden still has a long way to go as a true leader of a championship team.

This. He still sucks at posting up. He still can't hit free throws. Why are we praising him? His only shining moments are on defense. He was important for us but he needs to work on his overall game OR start focusing on what he's good at (stop posting up so much).

Unbelievable the amount of hate he's been getting cause he missed some ft's. It's cause half this board doesn't know **** about basketball, and make a bunch of noise cause they play 2K on their xbox. I don't care about Harden's stat line; Howard was a more valuable player for us. A lot of the way Howard effects the game doesn't show up in the stat sheet. AND HE GAVE EFFORT EVERY SINGLE F****** MINUTE. Ya he looses his cool sometimes, but its because he cares so much.

I don't know why suddenly we are having this Howard vs. Harden debate. Both have flaws that our coaches are unable to mitigate.

Don't worry, I don't think this pairing will last. One or both of them will leave.

Does anyone else want to play with Dwight?

Getting boxed out by smaller players
Getting out rebounded by smaller players
    Lazily going for rebounds
Being a moron by techs etc.

Morey didn't sign him to score 25ppg or get better in the post. He signed him to play defense and rebound. They should post him up less but this is also the same guy that wrecked Robin Lopez a year ago in the post.

If Dwight had a PG to get him the ball we'd unlock a lot of hidden offensive output from him. Hell, we barely have any players capable of making proper post entry passes to him. That's embarrassing. I swear 30% of passes to Dwight in the post or in the pick and roll are bounce passes.

Lmao. Ppl on here mad at Dwight

When Dwight went out we SUCKED, nobody could grab a rebound or block a shot. When Harden went out we came back from 19 & eventually got to the WCF. Yes Dwight's the MVP of the postseason. Even with all his flaws

Without Howard we get blown out last night and we get blown out in games 1 and 2, and without him we lose even to the mavericks. Both guys are equally important, Howard is a defensive anchor when healthy and his points come from dunks and put backs with the occasional post up. Harden is not a defensive anything, he is a liability on defense he has nothing to hang his hat on when his offense isnt going for him.
