I was seeing where some broadcaster said he had Green as 1st time All NBA at center Which I think is ridiculous He is a PF . . .. trying to cheat because you love the guy is just bunk If he not good enough to be 1st team All NBA at PF Trying to nudge him in as a Center is crap Rocket River
I can see the argument if they're trying to form the best 5 guys. He's played a decent amount of minutes at center
You guys are arguing at cross-purposes. You, like McHale, are saying he's not the problem on the court. That's true...as the team's second-best player, he's not the reason the team is losing. What others are saying is that he doesn't approach the production, offensively and defensively, that would justify his contract, which hurts the team's ability to be competitive. In that sense, he is a problem. Ariza is not the, or a, problem. If he were paid the max, he'd immediately be THE problem, because of how that would kill the team's ability to build a roster.
I wouldn't look at only centers. I would look more at C/PF's. Dwight is currently the 4th highest paid player in the NBA. So no matter how you look at it he is a drag on the team. I would even question giving him 10$ million a season at this point. I don't know what the future hold for the Rockets but Dwight should move on. I wish him the best regardless.
He actually led the league in goal tending this year with 25, up from a league leading 23 he had last year.
Speaking of leading the league, Howard led the league this year in: Defensive goaltending calls (25) Ejections (2-tied with 7 other players) Flagrant Foul Type 1 (4) Defensive 3 seconds call (14) He was also: 6th in technical fouls (10) 5th in offensive fouls (39)
Where were all these people in the "Dwight is no longer elite" thread? What happened to turning it on during the playoffs?
It honestly was a pleasure to have him if this is true but he has declined and now is showing us his true colors. He gave us championship hopes when he arrived, I still wish him the best regardless. It's still a game at the end of the day.
Found official Rim Protection stat from NBA.com http://stats.nba.com/defensivehub/#...egular Season&PlayerPosition=C&sort=MIN&dir=1 Dwight's defended FG% at the rim this season was 49.7% This is quite mediocre and probably lands him in middle of the pack of rim protectors. The C/PFs who are considerably better at protecting the rim than Dwight are as follows : Rudy Gobert 41.0% Festus Ezeli 43.6% Andrew Bogut 45.2% Bismack Biyombo 45.2% Marc Gasol 45.7% Robin Lopez 45.8% Pau Gasol 46.3% DeAndre Jordan 46.4% Hassan Whiteside 46.9% Tim Duncan 47.0% Brook Lopez 47.0% Donatas Motiejunas (Yes) 47.1% Anthony Davis 47.7% Derrick Favors 47.7% Kristaps Porzingis 47.7%
Brook Lopez has been better defender/rim protector than Dwight this year and offensively it's not even a match. Rudy Gobert blows Dwight out of water defensively and is not too behind on offense either (both heavily rely on their teammates to score) No question those two are better. And Dwight is 37th in RPM among centers this season and I've only named 10. 'Nuff said.
