Mispronounces a fully solved puzzle and loses one million dollars. I almost feel sorry for this guy, but damn. I particularly am fond of the one where it is a person and he asks for a "c" probably because he was thinking the last word was cat.

That was one of the most pathetic things I've ever seen. He gave away the game to a blonde Aggie of all people.

Is it just me or is that just unnecessarily pedantic?
I know, he's an idiot for not knowing how to pronounce Achilles. Regardless, the puzzle is already "solved".

As far as the rest of his failures, yeah. Completely pathetic.
On the spot dicebin. LOL WTF.

Aggie didn't even pronounce it right. This puzzle referred to the greek noun. Look it up and you'll see there's no hard sounding "ach".

I think proper names just should be given a pass, especially if already fully spelled out. I mean what the hell kind of name is sajak and why is it pronounced "say-jack"

    I'm not okay with this...

I don't see why it shouldn't just be automatic if all the letters are showing?

Shouldn't Vanna have to read it while shaking her rack at the camera?

I was watching the episode for some strange reason (I never watch regular TV), and it was pretty damn sad. He also guessed wrong for another puzzle. The entire puzzle was done, except for two letters _A_. The word was man, he said something completely unintelligible. He had a ton of cash and prizes then too.

Somehow, this idiot won - but missed an easy final puzzle too "First Round Draft Pick" or "First Draft Pick" or something like that.

Looks like he has the last laugh. He's in college and I'm not.

He didn't lose $1 million, only the small chance at $1 million IF he got to the final round, right?

He would have to have gotten to the final round, which he did, AND then have a 1 in 24 chance to land on the corresponding space AND then solve the puzzle.

He DID NOT lose one million dollars because of the mispronunciation.

Interestingly enough, he had two additional relatively major screw ups later in the game.

I can understand him screwing up that word especially if he's never been exposed to it. I screwed up facade for a long time. Some words just don't sound like they're spelled.

You'll have the last laugh if you dump college for a good trade school, he will have massive student loan debt and no job prospect, you wil be working right out of school with a decent income to live.

    Terrible advice.

I guess this is why we cant fill the graduate student pool with our own folks and have to mass import Indians and Chinese, who then go on to take the jobs here.

Good luck competing with these Masters and PhD graduates and their 70k+ income with your trade school training and a "decent income".

I guess I should also add that you incur ZERO debt for tech PhD programs. School pays all your tuition cost and covers your living expenses while you finish your degree. What is sad is that our own kids either do not know about this or do not care but kids from other parts of the world do and get into these programs.
