Will probably go see it regardless. I hope they bring along the newer stars of comedy with them this time around that weren't available when the original one was made.
Can't wait for this. My memorable scene <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://youtube.com/embed/2qnv8uo8RcY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> EDIT* damn i thought can bypass the embedding disable by the user. Guess not
I don't think so since the article specifically has a quote of them saying they had nothing to do with that movie.
The plot of the original is: Two idiots. How can you naysayers think that a true sequel is not possible/too late/the actors are too old? It's not like it has to be 'the next day' or something like that where the actors need to look the same age. The characters are morons. It's funny. That's the movie. I would watch 10 sequels.
Nothing a Lloyd Christmas haircut and a little makeup can't take care of. I'm quite sure it's not hard for Jim Carrey to get into this role.
http://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/movie-talk/jim-carrey-bows-dumb-dumber-sequel-165903133.html He was psyched. But apparently the studio wasn't. Jim Carrey just pulled out of the sequel of "Dumb and Dumber" just a few months after the project was announced. The reason: Carrey became progressively more frustrated with New Line and Warner Brothers' apparent lack of enthusiasm for the project (according to ETOnline sources). "I would have thought 'Dumb and Dumber To' [the sequel's title] was a no-brainer, after all it's implied in the title," a clever Carrey told ETOnline through his spokesperson. [Photos: 'Dumb and Dumber' movie stills] In early April, director Peter Farelly confirmed that both original leading men, Carrey and Jeff Daniels, would reprise their roles in a "Dumber" sequel to begin shooting in September. It's unclear whether the project will continue without Carrey's involvement. Fans shared their thoughts on Twitter, largely expressing disappointment: "Boo!" tweeted Alina Marie, while Nathan Spicer typed, "Definitely not seeing it now..." Brandon Night simply tweeted "Sad day," while Josh Schlag took to Twitter to criticize the Farrelly brothers, saying they "...dug their graves with 'The Three Stooges'." Hael Abdulrazed, instead, criticized Carrey himself: "...his whole life is about disappointing fans." Carrey hasn't completely burned his bridge with New Line and Warner Brothers: He appears next year in their film "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone." "Dumb and Dumber" was the third in a string of hit comedy films Carrey starred in during the year of 1994 -- launching him from mere comedy skit show actor on Fox's "In Living Color" to A-list movie star. "The Mask," and "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" preceded "Dumber" that year. Yahoo! Movies reached out to both New Line Cinema and the Farelly brothers' company Conundrum Entertainment -- neither gave a comment in time for the publication of this article.
^^^^ You were saying? I love it how people's "tweets" are news... oh, we're soOOoOOOoooo concerned what people tweet... LOL!
Eh, after thinking about it, there's no way it's completly dead. If New Line/WB get enough feedback from fans about this, they'll go to Carrey and apologize, give him more money, and then he'll be back in. I still have faith, but wont hold my breath.
