So I had a significant amount of shingles blow off my roof during the hurricane and there was a lot of water that leaked down in my walls and on to my ceiling. I'm concerned about mold and I read where it is a good idea to hire a drying service to take care of drying the water out and treating your home in such a way so that mold won't grow in the future.

However, I've had a HELL of a time getting any of these guys to honor their estimates. I've had 3 to 4 different ones show up now and give an estimate and then never answer their phone again when I attempt to call them back. Is this normal? Do these companies give you an estimate just because they are there but never have any intention of doing that work if you wish to hire them?

I had one yesterday that showed up, my wife complained to them about the other companies that had given estimates and then wouldn't call back, and they agreed it was a problem and that a lot of these people are in from out of town for all the extra work and are only interested in doing the big jobs. This crew of guys then proceeded to tell my wife that they had to go get their sheetrock guy to help give the estimate of replacing the sheetrock that they would tear out as part of the drying procedure. Then they never come back! I've tried calling them and they won't answer their freaking phone. It is so frustrating.

Anyway, anyone recommend a good, RELIABLE drying service that might service the Deer Park area?

Your insurance company may be able to suggest a drying service (not saying they would cover this, simply saying that they probably could refer you to someone).
