It is actually 8.1 billion. Government is kind of expensive though. In one day this year the U.S. dropped 161 million dollars worth of missiles/bombs on Syria. That is not counting the flight time for the jets/bombers though which can have around $90,000-$100,000 per flight hour.
I agree w his defenders in one respect: this spending and even eating crap is a lame way to go at him. I would prefer they go at him for trying to dismantle the agency he was charged to "lead" and for neglecting or even attacking science in a job that, by its very nature, requires scientific input to do any reasonable work.
In theory... removing an incompetent at best and more likely purposefully destructive administrator would be a good approach, however trump defenders would simply view that as "political" and as such it would be pointless. So pointing to and removing him for clear and proven corrupt activities will actually avoid partisan claims as they should offend all tax-paying Americans, at least those not so blinded by their own partisanship.
Geez, did pruitt become corrupt enough that even fox and laura ingraham are perturbed? "Bad judgement"... ya think?
Basically, I was elected to do a job that I have no interest in doing, and instead am ensuring that it NOT be done, in order to inflict as much pain and misery on as many American people as humanly possible. Furthermore, I expect you to THANK me for it and to be treated with the respect and presented with the accolades that I richly deserve for my behavior. The fact that I don't get as much as I think I deserve is why I'm going to no longer be not doing my job in December, because you don't deserve me. Are we clear on this? - Paul Ryan
He is a sh*thole but this one seems harmless. I would probably have done the same thing just replace the rose bowl with Astros world series. I'd call morley or pop to give my son an internship once he's done with school @ Trinity university in S.A or St. Thomas in Houston. =) what does get me is their 'base' who accuse others of wanting handouts.
"... but, the emails"... pruitt using a private email server to avoid detection? New Pruitt question: Where are his emails? The EPA administrator wrote only one email in 10 months to anyone outside the agency, if the official paper trail is to be believed. Watchdog groups don’t believe it. https://www.politico.com/story/2018/06/22/scott-pruitt-where-are-his-emails-664285
pruitt and trump, joining forces to hide dangerous drinking water on military bases... and now these bases are planned to be used to hold immigrant families? The Military Drinking-Water Crisis the White House Tried to Hide https://newrepublic.com/article/149280/military-drinking-water-crisis-white-house-tried-hide
There is a silver lining to this PFAS business: people are catching on. One of the few bits of science embraced in a bipartisan manner in Congress, leading to a major change in how the military trains fire-fighting drills near their bases. Here's a good scientific place to start, for anyone interested. http://greensciencepolicy.org/pfas-statement/
