Lol i don't remember if it was last summer or the one before it where everyone said the rox would finish 3rd or 4th in the standings. I love the enthusiasm but lets be real.
If he in fact does not resign with us, I petition that he should put up his Dynex in a charity auction benefiting underprivileged Slovenian children.
um.. of course Dragic is a little overrated. But is there really any other point guard in this league (that we can acquire) that can run this team and actually bring some sort of excitement for rockets fans? He maybe overrated as a player, but he definitely brings some good excitement to Houston Basketball that us fans have been in lack of for many years.
There is one huge difference, and I can't stress this enough, Dragic wants to be here and Lowry does not. Makes our decision about 1 million times easier doesn't it?
He is viewed as a Top 85 to 80 player among journalists..... CF view him much higher but he is somewhere in between..probably Top 65
I don't believe for one second that Lowry doesn't want to be here. He was disgruntled at the second half of last year because of injuries and our rapid descent from playoff status. Once we start assembling a good core and start winning, he will be good to go.
I think he is right rated....a top 15 PG in the league, on his way to top 10 and possibly further.... He is a bit better than Lowry right now. DD
i don't think he's overrated. i think it's not very difficult to find a point guard that can put up 15-5 consistenly. lowry and dragic are 2 types of players that fit the mold. i think some people here think that Dragic is an all-star, but honestly, he's not even close. he is not better than chris paul, steph curry, tony parker, ty lawson, even jarrett jack. that's only the west conference. he is a good player, but he should not be by any means an untouchable player on this roster. yes he averaged 18-8 as a starter in 28 games, but that sample size just isn't enough. if we use the entire season - starting and bench - dragic simply is not a top-tier point guard. if you want some sort of proof http://bkref.com/tiny/cUbfS Guards with 15+ point per 36 minutes & 7 assists per 36 minutes. dragic is 9th in scoring. he's a good player, but not as good as people on this board seem to think. he is not all-star caliber, unless he drastically improves his game this summer.
I'm sure someone has pointed this out already, but the Rockets are not choosing Dragic over Lowry. They are choosing Dragic+8th pick(or whatever you can get in return for Lowry) over Lowry himself. Is Lowry better than Dragic? Perhaps. But would you rather keep Lowry? Or trade him and then resign Dragic while adding a young potential future star talent?
Lowry is valued higher the Goran around the league, the man was damn near averaging a triple double before he got hurt. My gut is telling me that trading Kyle is a mistake
i think lowry and dragic are at about the same level, but i personally like dragic better because i like his attitude more than lowry. but i don't think either are current all-star calliber players. maybe in the future, maybe.
no way, westbrook, cp3, ty lawson, mike conley, rubio, tony parker? dragic/lowry aren't even in the top 5 pg in the west. they are good, but i just don't see them ever being all stars.
