Starters do not lose their place because of injury in the same year, period.

    Love em both.

They do not lose their place in the rotation because of injury but they could be brought in off the bench for limited minutes if they are just coming back from an extended injury and need to be worked back in slowly. ;)

And I suspect this is what we are going to hear when and if Lowry is ready to play this season and Goran is still playing at the same level he is now.

Something to remember that ties into EVERY post in this entire thread is that this season is not normal...

A good bench player who moves into bigger minutes this time of year has a significant advantage of the players he will be on the court with that have been playing 35 mpg five nights a week for the past three months.

Look at what Lowry did in the beginning of the season when he had his legs. Then the ridiculous scheduling caught up to him. Not to mention he had to play with Kevin Martin and his 1-12 shooting nights all season long.

Dragic AND Lee both have fresh legs and no Kevin Martin to eat up all the touches. The effect of not having Martin on the floor is so integral to the overall play of the team (Specifically Dragic) its ridiculous.

Goki actually gets to run the offense inside of just passing to Martin off pindowns on 30% of our possessions. Also he doesn't have to go crazy on the defensive end trying to help make up for Martin's invisibility. Lee and Camby make the defense much better as a whole allowing Dragic to expend significantly less energy on that end of the floor then Lowry would.

Everyone needs to step back and check the entirety of the situation before drawing conclusions.

Dragic and Lowry are both awesome but my logic tells me Lowry is the one to keep if we can only choose one. And Martin needs to go. One way offensive players get you nowhere in this league. But then again neither do role players. Basically, we're screwed regardless.

Seriously, we are going to blame Martin?

If thats the case, then last year's Lowry gets thrown out the door because Martin was having a career year.

Martin's performance this year is nothing short of disappointing.

I don't disagree, but saying Lowry's numbers dipped due to Martins bad year is absurd.

It is so hypocritical, that people were saying exactly the opposite when their favy player was not on the chopping block.

Like - no one can lose a starting job due to injury...of course that is not what they said last year, lol.

Or that someone's stats are down because of whom they are playing with when the same argument was poo poo -ed last year as well.

I get it though, I am as guilty as the next guy but it is sure damned funny to me.

Nothing got "poo poo-ed", it's all been consistent.

Nope, it's always been consistent. Don't know what your complaint is.

You really need to let Brooks go. The NBA has.

It is damned funny to me as well.... We have holes at the swing positions and all people are talking is our forte... the PG position.

Lowry can't get to the rim anymore. Dragic does everything better or at leawst equal and he's more explosive and a better defender. Package lowry with martin or scola and address other parts of the team.

Lowry is much better at finding open players in transition offense and looking for contact when he penetrates.
