Looks like the Pistons are in the mood to sign washed up stars from earlier in the decade. They just threw 4 mil at Ben Wallace. Yeesh. Although, a one year minimum is actually a good gamble for the pistons if T-mac can actually produce some decent numbers, but more importantly keep his mouth shut. Good luck with the latter Detroit.

Rip, Gordon, and T-Mac? That makes no sense at all to have three SG's considering Rip and Gordon don't need help. Unless T-Mac is being used as insurance if one of those two gets injured.

As bad as the Pistons are how are they going to find minutes for him there? They've got Gordon, Rip, and Prince. Adding to that Dumars has admitted Stuckey is more of a two guard and he'll get some more minutes there. While Charlie V's preferred position is SF even though he'll play PF/C.

Mcgrady can play some pg like he did for the Knicks last season. Min contract isn't much of a gamble.

Also Jerebko plays SF as well and they shoud be giving him ample playing to develop after a better than expected rookie season. This signing is pretty confusing...

More than likely, but Dumars will have to go down on his asking price significantly.

Didn't they resign Will Bynum? If so, Stuckley and Bynum should be getting most of those minutes

The Rockets almost traded Mcgrady to the Pistons 2 seasons ago before the elective surgery to block the trade...irony that he ends up there anyways.

The Pistons probably wouldn't have made this move if Detroit's economy wasn't in the toilet and they weren't hurting in the turnstiles...

His workouts have been less than average and he has visions of still being a starter.

Agree or disagree with him or the Rockets for how things shook out, the league watched his play in New York.

And that play didn't improve. But his ego was still the same. Superstar McGrady. It caught up to him.

Now he has to "prove" himself on an average team and a minimum contract. That's where he is now in his career.

a few min at pg, a few at 2-guard, a few at 3-guard and you end up with 12 min a game for the role player Mcgrady

I assume this is like buying a lotto ticket, no biggie if you lose but could reap a lot benefits.

They've been available for the last 3 years.

Wasn't there a rumour going around like two years ago that we would send T-Mac and Battier for Rip and Tayshuan?
