I do not watch college basketball except some games in march madness and i was looking at 2 websites that have the rockets picking up these players in the draft so i just wanted to know everybodies opinion on whether you truly think that the rockets will draft these players or not.... ESPN draft lottery http://espn.go.com/nba/lottery2010/mockdraft NBADRAFT.NET http://www.nbadraft.net
I don't think NBADraft.Net associates team need with who they believe a team will pick. I think they may just rank the players top to bottom and then assign the teams to those players based upon their position in the draft.
I think the Rockets will look for an athletic big man, preferably at the center position. You have: Cole Aldrich Ekpe Udoh Solomon Alabi Larry Sanders Gani Lawal [draftexpress is the best site]
I would love to see Avery Bradley in a Rockets uniform. It would seem like the type of thing we would do if we were going to make a trade for a big star.
Why on earth would we need another wing? We already have three swingmen and a shooting guard under contract, not to mention two point guards who sometimes play at the same time at the 1 and the 2, and Jeffries, who is basically a combo forward. A power forward is likewise unneeded, unless we don't bring Scola back... and Morey already said we're bringing him back. Scola/Hill/Jeffries/Hayes is four, three if we decline Chuck's option, still too many to find minutes for a rookie. Clearly what we have been missing is a big, defensive-minded center to back up Yao. That's what we should draft. Here are my top 4: 1) Cole Aldrich 2) Ekpe Udoh 3) Solomon Alabi 4) Artsiom Parakhouski That's really the only position we could find minutes for a rookie at. Even then, we'll be pushing Andersen out of the rotation, but I don't mind that development at all because he's a shooting-minded center who doesn't play much D.
I don't think you draft a defensive minded big....you can pick one up in the offseason...Camby for instance. I think you take the best player available. DD
Ekpe Udoh.. WOW He's 6 foot 11 or 6 foot 10 but he plays like hes a 7 footer. GREAT shot blocker. Has a midranger jumper. Pretty good rebounder. Somewhat small frame, but I'm sure he can add some muscle. Is extremely mobile. If we don't get monroe, I would not mind this guy at all.
Monroe is not what we need. Not sure why everybody here is so in love with this guy. His defense is not good enough and he has some major weaknesses which will translate poorly to the NBA.
