All the more reason a 7' 6" humoungous dude like Yao should never have been playing for the CNT. That was crazy, he never had any rest and it led to his breakdown.

He should have chosen between the NBA or the CNT. Playing both destroyed his feet.

 

Wow, like too many friendly games before the tournament...

 

They treat them like pre-season games though, starters don't play all that much during those games.

 

Just curious, was that the case with Ilgauskas?

 

It might seem like that, but let's not forget it's going to be a short tournament so team will want to head into the tournament into the peak form straight away

If a tourney is longer like WC or European Cup, you play less games and get ino the peak form during the tourney group stages.

Haha see I looked before I made that post and it had DMo coming off the bench and Valanciunas starting. Lavrinoviĉ was awful from what I recall (I watched most Lithuania games at EuroBasket '13) and Valanciunas should obviously be starting, but you never know.

pre-season or not that is WAY too many. you've got 3 and 4 games in a row? those can't be full games, but have to be scrimmages or something with a running clock

Don't think so. He missed national team play on several occasions. Lithuanians I know were upset about it.

 

Ilgauskas has never played for LT after entering NBA.
He had injury problems from being teenager.

Wut?? I have no idea where did you get that from, since there is no such word in official Lithuanian nor streets. Donuts means absolutelly nothing in Lithuanian as far as I know.

Donatas won't be playing in the first game. He is training individually atm and will start training with the team (tactics) shortly after tomorrow's game.
