WTF is wrong with you what? The East is still weak, their best team is what...Toronto? Cleveland with no defense? Overrated as hell Bulls? Wizards? Atlanta? LOL! Compare that to the powerhouse teams in the West like Spurs, OKC and GS you'll see all these teams are a joke, the East's only saving grace is Lebron has been playing in the East for his entire career, if he played in the West there would probably have been a reformat since the only relevant team in the entire conference the last couple of year would've been the Pacers.

PhX right now holds the 8th spot in the West, they would be 5th in the East. And take note East teams have an inflated record since they play more games against the East while the West need to play more games against the West.

Not only is the East still the Leastern Conference, but its 4 best teams against the West can't even sniff the Southwest Division's jockstrap (.653 vs .746).

It's good that you didn't mention Indian, Miami, Detroit or Brooklyn. They have a combined 18-37 record against Western Conference teams.

Against Western teams so far this season:

    Toronto: 9-5
    Brooklyn: 5-5
    Boston: 3-8
    New York: 1-13
    Philidelphia: 1-15

    Chicago: 8-5
    Cleveland: 4-7
    Milwaukee: 6-6
    Indiana: 5-12
    Detroit: 4-12

    Atlanta: 8-2
    Washington: 7-5
    Miami: 4-8
    Orlando: 4-6
    Charlotte: 3-13

    ==============
Against Eastern teams so far this season:

    Portland: 15-2
    OKC: 8-5
    Denver: 6-9
    Utah: 6-10
    Minnesota: 3-9

    Golden State: 10-0
    Clippers: 11-5
    Phoenix: 11-6
    Sacramento: 3-7
    Lakers: 5-4

    Memphis: 8-4
    Dallas: 15-3
    Houston: 8-2
    San Antonio: 9-1
    New Orleands: 4-5

    ======================

I've highlighted all teams with a record of above .500 against its opposing conference. The East has 4 teams. The West has 10.

Notice that even the Lakers, second worst team in the West, has a better than .500 record against the East.

Should have taken your advice and not looked. Right now, the East has 72 wins against the West and 122 losses, meaning they're winning at a 37% clip. Only the top 4 Eastern teams having winning records against the West (with 2 more at 50%). Meanwhile, 10 Western teams have winning records against the East, including the lowly Lakers. Golden State is 10-0 vs the East. A number of Western teams have artificially high standings right now in the West because they've played big Eastern swings early -- Portland (50% of their games to date have been vs the East, going 15-2 or 58% of their wins), Dallas (51%, 15-3, 60% of their wins), Phoenix (47%, 11-6, 55% of their wins). Even 5-27 Minnesota is feasting on the East where they've won 25% of their games as opposed to 10% in the West. 11 out of 15 WC teams have better records in the East than they do in the West. Only 3 EC teams have fared better in the West than at home (Atlanta, Brooklyn, and Orlando (oddly enough)).

You can look at rosters and say this team's got this guy or that guy, they've improved, or whatever. In the end, the standings still look terrible. The East might have a dangerous team or two, but the conference has no depth

One of the dumbest responses you could have come up with, I'm guessing I shouldn't have expected better after seeing your name. Winning a couple regular season games is not the same thing as success in the playoffs, genius.

No, they beat the Rockets recently, but didn't "whip" them. However, the NOP did just whip the Rockets, and they're currently 9th place in the west.

There are legitimate points in this thread about the improvement of the East, but when you react individually after each game, you dilute the argument and make yourself seem foolish in the eyes of most in here. You can respond by writing that you don't care about others' opinions on here, but then you shouldn't have created a thread with so many terrible points in a forum that exists for feedback. Bottom line, the East has been playing better over the last few weeks, but better means 50% and accounting for their terrible play over the entirety of the season, that 50% becomes 37%. All of it counts. The east has been better lately. That's all you can say with warrant. The rest of your arguments are poorly formed. Apologies for not being nice.
