They had to have promised Dwight something for opting in last year. It doesn't add up... Just unbelievable.

It's so awesome being used as leverage. Hell, even Lin tried it.

In the future, when a team or person commits an unforgiveable and tragic blunder, it will be referred to as "a Hennigan".

I honestly don't think Hennigan had a choice. The only options DeVos would sign off on were Brooklyn or LA.

If a team (Rockets) is willing to trade for a guy who says he won't re-sign, of course the Magic have a say. They're under no obligation to trade Dwight where he wants. They can do whatever they want. Now, Dwight's comments about not re-signing might scare some teams off, but if a team (Rockets) is willing to take that risk, Orlando couldn't give less of a **** if Dwight re-signs with whatever team he's traded to. If there are multiple teams willing to do a trade, then yes, Orlando most definitely had a choice.

what are you talking about? Gasol is not part of this

The Lakers will send All-Star center Andrew Bynum to the Philadelphia 76ers, who also will receive shooting guard Jason Richardson from the Orlando Magic. The Sixers will send guard Andre Iguodala to the Denver Nuggets. The Magic will receive Arron Afflalo, Al Harrington, Nikola Vucevic, rookie swingman Moe Harkless, forward Josh McRoberts, three protected first-round draft picks and a 2013 second-round pick from the Nuggets (by way of Golden State). In addition to Howard, the Lakers will also receive Earl Clark and Chris Duhon from the Magic. Yahoo! Sports

What question marks, the Lakers will be in the 2013 NBA Finals. Gasol can play as soft as a marshmallow with DH in the paint. Nash running the PnR with DH will be much more effective than running it with Bynum.

Orlando could have gotten a better deal from the Nets wtf is wrong with them.

Orlando must have gotten the promise of the #1 pick or the like. This doesn't make sense otherwise because both Nets/Rockets offers were better. A LOT better.

Wow are you kidding me?? Orlando pretty much gave up on Howard for nothing. Now they're still stuck with all their bad contracts. Will likely get mid level draft picks which won't amount to anything impactful.

Lakers on the other hand just got their missing piece.

Dwightmare is Finally Over for Rockets & The NBA

In the end, trading for Dwight just didn't make sense fo Daryl Morey if we had to take on bad contracts and sacrifice flexibility since there's the risk that he would leave after one season and we won't have cap flexibility to surround him with a championship contending roster.

Hence, we now now have one of the youngest if not the youngest roster in the league and poised to be players for the 2013 free agency where the likes of Dwight Howard, Chris Paul, and Andrew Bynum to name a few, are bound to become free agents.

Expect a Kevin Martin trade soon or at least up until the trade deadline to what we expect would be for more prospects and/or picks to complete a full rebuild mode.

Expect a losing season and enjoy watching our franchise develop our rookies and young prospects (Chandler Parsons, Jeremy Lamb, Donatas Motiejunas, Royce White, Terrence Jones..etc) to be led by Jeremy "Linsanity" Lin.

Morey is not to blame since it's quite obvious that the league has been converted to almost every superstar demanding to be traded to big market teams. Small market team GM's like Morey can only do so much.

Damn, we should be happy we didn't land Howard if Morey was giving up all that (future UNPROTECTED picks too???).

Hope Morey can learn something from this:

Before losing hard for several years, you will achieve nothing no matter how you do the trades, drafts, collecting assets or praising the lord.
