Well OK, this turned into thefeak and dudewah pissing on each others shoes..... Lol

But really back on the subject.

Let's step back and look at the whole picture and what we know.

We know Morey is no fool, and that he knows that back injuries recoveries can be unpredictable and take a long while to heal. He had to know Dmo wouldn't be %100 for the start of the season or possible most of it.

We know the Morey relises that Howard having back problems himself is on the downside of his career and hasn't really had a strong full season in many years for a variety of reasons. You really expect him to miss sometime during the year.

We know that he knows that C.Copella is full potential, but still young and will have tons to learn.

He should also know the as much potential that Jones has, he still has a ton to learn, has many holes in his game and will have his own growing pains. Not to mention he's gone down with his own weird set of injuries.

Morey also let J.Smith walk on what is a steal of a contract for his experience and skills. Even though he had someholes in his game, he was a very versatile.

He also pulled back on a Chuck Hayes contract that would have been at the vet min.

Again, Morey is no fool. He has to relied all of this.

So what is it that Morey has his eye on??? What is it he keeping the door open for?? It can't be purely only about flexibility. What does he know?? Who does he see becoming available?? What can't we see and what card is Morey waiting to play?

I think it's pretty reasonable to think DMo will start the year off a bench. He spent half a year without basketball, it will take time to get used to it. Also, all Jones hype came from his regular season games, because in playoffs he always gets destroyed. So giving Jones more minutes and starting position will showcase him better prior to trade deadline. At this point Darryl obviously knows that he's going to keep DMo long term, not Jones, so he's in no rush to hurry DMo's return, it's not like it's DMo's last months with the team, unlike Jones'.

LOL, based on what? Did you get a case of the feels? Dwight missed the start of camp when he was recovering from the same surgery that took place after DMo's did and he was still ready to go by the end of preseason. He was even playing 36 minutes a game to start the season, and playing well.

I see no reason to think that DMo won't be ready to go sometime during the preseason.

The above poster was guessing as are you. You are not D-Mo's personal physician.

As for Dwight coming back for the start of the season after coming off back surgery..... sure... he did. Ask any Lakers fan if that was a good idea???

As a matter of fact, he probably did more harm then good coming back early. If you recall when he first arrived from Houston (2 years after his back surgery) his body was all out of whack according to Keith Jones because he had compensated in certain areas probably to get back on the court quicker.

Long story short.... again... YOU and other posters have no freaking clue when he will be back at 100%. What we do know is that we should be, and we should hope the organization should be conservative with his expectations, and pushing him to get back on the court ASAP. If you want him longterm with the team, you should WANT the team to be cautious and conservative with his timetable returning.

I like D-Mo, and hope he's kept here long term. If he allows a simple back procedure to get complicated for years due to getting back on the court too soon, it could be debilitating and career lingering.

Please stop acting like a D-Mo back expert, and please start looking at this situation as a BACK SURGERY REALIST. This is a serious surgery to come back from, and as fans we should set our expectations to assume he might miss some time at the start of the season, and we might have to rely on "Other Options" at PF... which flows back into the contentious arguments made over and over about the need to "Trade Jones ASAP" and Harrell's "obvious" upgrade from Jones apparently, and the comfort in having to rely on true small ball this year if D-Mo has to miss time, and other options at the 4/5 aren't healthy or playing up to par.

If WE (collectively) can all agree that the organization "should be" conservative, and that we as fans should be conservative with out expectations, it makes the arguments following about "Other PF options" much more simple to discuss without involving agendas.

Dwight was certainly now playing "well" by any stretch of the imagination at the start of the 12-13 season.

tl;dr version - DMo will not be coming back soon because no one knows when DMo will actually come back.

His very first game he had a double double 19/10
His second game he had 33/14
He was averaging 19/11 his very first month back....

How is that not playing "well" in your opinion?

I'm comparing the situation to other comparable situations, the other poster was just going off of "feels"....just as you seem to be doing. By all means, keep pimping your agenda though. It never gets tiresome.
