Did you guys see this spin move by D-Mo while dribbling into traffic off the perimeter? I can't even remember the last time I saw a true 7 footer do this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBAMU7IZfpg&feature=youtu.be&t=1m15s He is incredibly gifted. I really hope we see him get rotation minutes.
I am confused. Why would we want Millsap? To compete this year? D-Mo projects in my book to be much better than Millsap. Why throw a road block in front of him that is making an order of magnitude more in salary?
We don't need a defensive oriented big man--that's what Asik is for. We need somebody with an actual post game and the ability to roll to the basket on the PnR. Those two things are exactly what D-Mo brings to the table.
I didn't say deep bench. I said they don't usually call up a player just to sit him deep on the bench. The whole reason they send young players down is because they know they aren't going to get any minutes. I mean if they are calling him up just to be an emergency player...then why not just use Jones or Aldrich for that?
They don't need to call him up to trade him I think. Any ways, that is a horrible and terrible trade for the Rockets unless you are talking about Marc Gasol. Yeah, just send off 3 really good prospects for a player that is most likely on the downturn of his career.
it is on Lakers board. Lakers want young from Rockets and clean their space cap. They will send Gasol, that 36yo PG (forgot the name) obvious isnt Nash, they had other old+ 2 old players. And besides Lin_DMo+TJones, they want 1 more of our youngs.
Some fans are just obsessed with a player's name or past success that they will long for bad trades thinking it is smart or thinking outside of the box. If Motiejunas meets even half of his potential he will be a match up nightmare off the bench with his offensive skills. If he reaches it, we have a Dirk/LaMarcus Aldridge type player that can help Asik compete with some of the bigger line ups that have so far given us trouble since the breaking of the duo we once called Scolandry.
People need to understand something: Morey is in no rush to make his next move. We ain't doing anything this year anyways, this is a growing year. So lets see what we have in our young guys first. When the trade deadline approaches we won't be sellers - if at all we will "help" other teams that want to get rid of one of their players. I am sure Morey will wait for an opening (like Harden) - and if none presents itself he will make small moves to stockpile more assets (perhaps ship one of our young PFs out for a draft pick). Morey wants a star - next offseason we have max cap space and Howard and CP3 become available. He has shown in the past, that no matter how low the odds, he will try everything to be a player here. And if he strikes out, he will take a look at the next best players and evaluate them... This is where Millsap, Smith and Jefferson come into play.
Gasol will have more trade value than Lin. It's an opportunity to flip him for a better trade asset if the Lakers are looking for tax relief, depth, and players who are a better fit. They have their big 3 in Kobe, Dwight, and Nash.
