It’s hard to say, a lot of that data from Detroit (hit hard and early like NY) is full of uncontrolled conditions etc. then again the sample size is pretty big. Ultimately the best and highest standard of true efficacy is a clinical trial. Those that were run were stopped because they showed no benefit. Usually you have a lot of studies before coming to a conclusion, the majority and best (clinical trial I mentioned) showed no benefit

 

Ok so yea didn’t see this but yea what I was saying. Because I was treating pts in those early days I can tell you the data is suspect af. Controlled trials guys, that’s where you come to conclusions

Cnn here lies. Early studies showed promise and then it ignores the nuance of those studies it references. CNN actually pays attention to the nuance of the study they don't like the results of because Trump is bad but fails to look at the other studies and their flaws.

What early studies? All I've seen that support the drug are anecdotes from general care physicians, not clinical trials that has a placebo and account for confounding factors.

 

Looks like they got ahold of some compliance or reporting paperwork from 2019 or 2018 and tried to connect the dots. The links are a little tenuous and some of them are possibly obsolete now, but you definitely want the Times to keep that investigative pipeline and those lines of communication active and open. Trump is a spoiled onion patch and this is the first layer...of the, first, row...of onions.

 

It is very telling that there haven't been reports of Trump taking HCQ. We're hearing about Remdesivir, antibody therapy and zinc.
