We're not firing Jeff Van Gundy. <---------Period Get over it, it's ot happening. Gundles brings great defensive knowledge to the table, but he lacks an offensive mind. Whenever Don Nelson resigns or gets fired from the Mvs job, we should bring him in as our offensive coordinator. Has there ever been one of these in the league? A coach strictly focused on that one aspect of the game ?

Neslon - great offensive coach, lousy defensive coach.

Gundy - great defensive coach, lousy offensive coach.

You put the together, and you got yourself a team...

Anyone else think that either Van Gundy or Nelson would be dead by the other's hand within a week?

We don't pay JVG to be a defensive coordinator.

The result depends on whether JVG's defense is better than Nelson's offense.
I predict Nelson beat JVG by points

Any such team would absolutely blow up. JVG demands that his players expend their energy primarily on defense. He believes that good defense wins games. Nellie doesn't know that defense is part of the game. His players work tirelessly on setting picks and working the offense at break neck pace and have no energy left over to defend. So, a combination of the two means you'd see alot of heads exploding.

I agreed. I think there's gonna be a Don Nelson vs. JVG show down evey single game, and they are going to cuss the hell out of each other in front of the players. It's going to be tragic if we get Don Nelson together with JVG.

Yeah, but with our luck, we'll end up with van Gundy's offense and Nelson's D. :D

So you think it is more likely that we become the first team in NBA history to have a offensive/defensive coordinator before we fire JVG?
