I don't really understand where you're going with this. But 2 quick things. 1. Rondo has no outside shot. Rockets offense is based off creating space. If Rondo's on the floor with Harden, unlike with Paul who provides space for Harden to drive, it would be a deficit. Especially if Rondo decides to hang in the lane taking even more space away not from just Harden driving, but Capela's backdoor. 2. Rondo is a known cancer. Known for a bad attitude. Known to disrupt a teams chemistry. Not saying he always will be, but it is synonymous with the name 'Rondo'. Conclusion: Having Rondo at such a cheap price, if he is balling, could have been really beneficial. It could have been a more efficient move salary wise than paying Paul so much. However, why work so hard to build a title contending team to just gamble it away??? Because thats what you are doing with Rondo, gambling. Signing Rondo is the equivalent of working hard all your life, taking all of your savings, flying to Vegas and betting it all on black in Roulette. The ball may land on black and the dude who worked all his life would look like a genius. Or, he can lose it all. Gambled away his entire life's savings and any chance of enjoying his earned retirement. Morey didn't work so hard to build a championship team to take ill-advised risks, thats what teams like the Pelicans need to do to have any semblance of a shot. Kudo's to the Pelicans for understanding the need to take risks and Kudo's to the Rockets for not gambling.
I have no doubt CP3 will bounce back. I am sure Game 1 was a huge relief for him. Our shooters shot terribly and CP3 could not have played worse if he tried, yet Harden was still able to will us to victory. CP3 has never had that before. On the Clips, Game 1 would have been a guaranteed loss for him. That has to be a ton of relief for CP3 and just more validation he made the correct choice.
He is being neutered defensively by a schematic clown of a human being in JB. So Rockets fans will never truly get ot see how good he is. I'm not even gonna go into detail D'Antoni's rigid offensive system, that Minnesota had a damn good pulse on in game 1.
LOL at this bashing of CP3.. We need to support CP3 (He will redeem himself very quickly. this guys is a competitor. . I predict he will have a very good game tonight
Dear lord. People really can be dismissive over one game. If Chris Pual plays like this for an entire series, then I would be concenered. But I would rather trust the sample size of the entire season and his entire career to determine his future success than the previous game.
CP3 knows what he’s doing. It is important that James gets a good first game to overcome all his playoff demons. CP3 is a smart leader and he ain’t chasing fame he chasin that ring. He can take over when he wants to, being seasoned general. He’s saving himself for those moments.
