KPRC (Channel 2) reporter and anchor Daniella Guzman could be headed for WMAQ, the NBC-owned station in Chicago, as the new anchor of its morning show, according to TimeOutChicago.com.

Guzman, who has worked for Channel 2 for 5 1/2 years, is the leading candidate to become anchor of NBC 5 News Today, according to Robert Feder, the former longtime TV writer for the Chicago Sun-Times who blogs for TimeOutChicago.com. She would succeed Zoraida Sambolin, who left the station late last year to co-anchor CNN’s Early Start.

Guzman did not immediately return a telephone call Wednesday morning seeking comment on the report. She was one of five Channel 2 anchors and reporters who gave birth last year.
