    proof that he is nuts

"Ashcroft, a religious man who does not drink alcohol or caffeine, smoke, gamble or dance, and has fought unrelenting criticism that he has trod roughshod on civil liberties in the wake of the Sept. 11 attacks, is taking on the p*rn industry at a time when many experts say Americans are wary about government intrusion into their lives."

the man is not a man.

I hope they keep this up, that way they will lose all their male voters. Especially the Christian ones.

Big Brother has to make the decisions for you as to what you can and cant see, do, or have in your own damn private home

Ashcroft is really certifiable. The guy truly is nuts. All these loonies need is a time machine to take them back to the early '50's and they'll be in nirvana.

Bush I and Bush II... one brought us Clarence Thomas (oh, the irony) and #2 has brought us Ashcroft and, even worse, himself. The country is in deep trouble when we're fighting a war in a country we invaded, without a clear and present danger, and we have the same administration fighting at home to shove Big Government and censorship down our throats, amongst many other evil things too numerous to mention. I am so past ready to vote against this true clear and present danger to the United States... the Bush Administration.

To say that Bush I or II is responsible for this is just being stupid. Please.

In that case, Bush and his crew are about as far from conservative as they could be. You do realize that the government has grown more under Bush than under any other presidency in the past 50 years, right?

Who is the moron now? Or was that statement just an I - D - ten - T error?

Is that why W is yanking the issue of gay marriage out state legislatures and putting forth a constitutional ammendment, because conservatives are against big government.

You guys used to be able to cling on that premise. Not any more.

This was in the other thread -- I'll just repost it here while the other one is locked:

    Another interesting article:

Teen who posted own photo charged with child p*rn

    Monday, March 29, 2004

    Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

State police have charged a 15-year-old Latrobe girl with child p*rnography for taking photos of herself and posting them on the Internet.

Police said the girl, whose identity they withheld, photographed herself in various states of undress and performing a variety of sexual acts. She then sent the photos to people she met in chat rooms.

A police report did not say how police learned about the girl. They found dozens of pictures of her on her computer.

She has been charged with sexual abuse of children, possession of child p*rnography and dissemination of child p*rnography.

Police said they are trying to identify all the people who receive photos from the girl.

    http://www.post-gazette.com/breaking/20040329pornp6.asp

    ------------------------

    Now the kicker:

They intend to try her as an adult.

Kafka couldn't have come up with better: "Little girl, you're too young to be able to consent to sex, so those pictures you took of yourself are pictures of a child, and you kept those pictures of yourself, so that's possession of kiddie p*rn.

"But young lady, you're old enough to know better, so we intend to try and convict you as an adult -- and force you to register as a sex offender -- as a kiddie pornographer, and child molester, no less -- for the rest of your life."

So let me get this straight. Does this mean if your under the age of 18 and you get caught masturbating, you can be charged with performing a sex act on a child?

I guess that means just about everyone between the ages of 12 and 18 needs to be registered as a sex offender.

Do these people actually think that a nation full of sexually repressed people are GOING TO MAKE THINGS BETTER?

Welcome the land of the free and home of the brave. Please pick up your shackles, and cower down in the nearest corner of your own convenience.

Uh.. he did appoint Ashcroft. Duh.

I don't blame Bush for Ashcroft's moral war, but jeez -- he could have picked less of a loony.

The very same John Ashcroft who spent $8000 of taxpayer money to cover up the bare breast of the statue of Lady Justice .

He once gave a speech at Bob Jones university, that contained such amazing lines as "Unique among the nations, America recognized the source of our character as being godly and eternal, not being civic and temporal. And because we have understood that our source is eternal, America has been different. We have no king but Jesus."

If he's offended by the bare breast of a statue, just imagine what he thinks of p*rn. That this man holds public office frightens me very, very much.
