so, guess we just assume the cousin took over the dog and the dog is well? would be nice to get a little more of an update than that...maybe even a pic!
You bumped this thread just to make that jerk of a statement?? Don't let your inability to save them all, keep you from saving one. Starfish Story: Spoiler You know that TNT taping we both attended, the one that I shared the link in a thread and you went, you know where my money I got from that is going? I just took in 2 foster puppies Monday and have spent a majority of that exact $50 bill we each received on puppy pads, food, toys, and products to clean up after them. Was originally going to update my Rockets jersey collection with a Harden jersey with that money, but this is so so much better. Anyways. Although I'm not sure of the status of Outlier's friend's dog, I just want to share that this story opened me up to fostering dogs again. It got me thinking more about it, and on Monday I took in 2 gorgeous, male Doberman mix puppies that were pulled from a Pearland animal shelter by the rescue organization Pup Squad. They're a lot of work, but they really bring me so much joy Side note: If you're interested in learning more about my 2 foster pups, let me know. I just know these boys are going to grow up to be great dogs. If anyone is considering fostering I can direct you to some wonderful Houston organizations. The rescue group just needs me to foster these little guys for 2 weeks, which isn't very long at all. I get to play with 2 puppies for 2 weeks? Heck yeah! Some organizations are looking for weekend fosters, which is great for people with busy schedules during the week. Most rescues have dogs they pay to keep in boarding if they can't find fosters, but having a weekend foster gives the dog a little enrichment, more socialization, and saves the rescue groups a little bit of money. Some need temporary fosters, when the full time fosters go out of town & need someone to care for them for a few days. Or you can foster dogs until they are adopted. Also, if you are wanting to add a dog to your family please consider adoption, either from one of many great rescues in Houston or your local animal shelter. When dogs are brought to animal control shelters they get 3 days for their owner to claim them, then 3 days to find a new home! 3 FREAKIN days to find a home before they are euthanized. That would have been the fate of the 2 pups I have if they weren't pulled by Pup Squad.
Hey guys, my wife sent me this on Facebook because it sounded like the dog from this thread. Anyone know if this is him? If so, it sounds like a happy ending after all . https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?....136722086410298.35771.136642929751547&type=1 "Patch, on the right, was a tiny 8 week old puppy at BARC when we first heard about him. His eye was literally hanging out of his head! Needless to say he lost the eye, but gained an absolutely wonderful home! Here is is today with his sibling. Handsome and very happy boy!!"
I got repped for this thread, which brought me back to it, which is why I'm now posting [late, I know] I've fostered 4 dogs, and adopted 3 of those 4. Right now I only have 2-yr old Penni (labrador retriever mix). I love Penni.
