Doesn't Boozer HAVE to be amnestied?

I didn't know where to post this question, so I thought here would be the best place to ask.

I want to know because if he is I think the Rockets (if the PF situation isn't solved) should take a chance on him. He'd be perfect next to Dwight.

Always hated boozer from his Jazz days...I don't know how I'd feel if he was on our team. He would fill the PF spot, but pretty much any decent veteran PF will be an upgrade

I hate the Jazz, but I have to take my homer attitude and chuck it out the door. Boozer would be a great fit on this team..

I heard he would have to be amnestied because they gave Taj Gibson that extension. Not sure if this is true, but Joakim Noah's extension might play part in that too.

I suspect he may get amnestied next summer (2014), in order to break the tax cycle and avoid repeater tax. But that's a guess.

This year's amnesty period is over and he can't get amnestied. Besides, you need cap space to claim an amnestied player. Someone else would bid on Boozer.

I would trade Asik for Boozer. We don't have a solid PF. BOozer can play post and shoot.

    Amnesty period already passed.

And no, they don't have to. He has two years left(this year and next).

    I don't care much for Gibson's contract. 4 more years at $7.5 mil, $8 mil, $8.5 mil, & $8.9 mil.

I'd pick him up, at severly reduced salary of course. He's not a bad player, but definitely not worth his current contract.

Boozer is awful. Didn't any of you Boozer supporters watch him in the playoffs?

We couldn't get him if he were amnestied unless nobody else bids on him (won't happen). We don't have the cap space to place a bid.

Nope. Not too keen on getting any of the ex Utah players from our Yao Ming days.

If we get Boozer, we might just have the most annoying team in the NBA.

Can't we just trade you instead?

Boozer's not worth his contract at all. He is old and he isn't a good defender. He can score in the post and shoot mid range but with DH already in the post he'll be reduced to jumpshooter in our squad. Boozer is also the kind of mercenary you don't like on your squad. If Parsons is the type of guy who will go out of his way to recruit DH to Houston, then Boozer is the type of loser who'll sit out 3 months due to a sore pinkie just so he won't have to play with pain (not kidding).

I don't think there's a player in the league I like less than Boozer. I don't want him, no matter how good a fit he might be.
