Pels are a Trae Young away from being great. But only if Demarcus stays. Pacers could use Ryan Anderson and Troy Williams and we could use the Al Jefferson and Darren Collison.
I think we need a 4th guard who could run the show for 5-10 minutes in case one of JH/CP/EG get hurt. A veteran who gets bought out and wants to win a ring. Devin Harris, perhaps?
Gerald Green? Athleticism, wing defense, a 3pt shot, person who can cut well. I think he would thrive in this version of Houston, to be honest.
I trust Gerald Green’s game more than Troy Williams. That’s court presence. I have no idea of off court matters. Don’t get me wrong. I loved Robert Covington when the Rockets had him. I knew he would turn into a good player if given time and patience from a team nurturing talent. Troy Williams also has that good potential imo. I have to agree with @basketballholic on the Pels being a dangerous team if Cousins stays and Rondo/Uni-brow are healthy for the playoffs.....if adding an addditional 3 & D player (or 2). Houston can matchup with pretty much every playoff contending team, with exception of probably the Pels and those 2 horses. D’Antoni may never live that down if the Pels upset the Rockets early in the playoffs. I can hear it already. “D’Antoni teams can win 60+ games in the regular season; but flop in the playoffs!” I wouldn’t go after Al Jefferson; but Thad Young does appeal to me, going to the Rockets.
Thad is good, but I doubt if the Pacers will agree to take Ryan for him. A 3 way trade would be needed to pull that off, and that won't be easy either.
Thad Young was mentioned earlier. I would rather have Myles Turner. I’m not saying any move is doable. Just mentioned before a Trey Lyles body at PF that can shoot 3’s with a cheap contract is what I’m hoping Morey finds. Imho, it allows the Rockets to cover all bases this year (if little to no rotational guys are shipped out). I don’t mind if that player comes off the bench or starts in front of Ryan Anderson. Nice conversing with you saleem. Take Care
I will always go with the guy who brings toughness and smarts over a potentially more talented player. Thanks AW, It's really nice to conversing with you too. Take Care.
Al Jefferson's value is in his contract. $10 million non-guaranteed until January 2019 for next season. Collison's contract is non-guaranteed for 18-19 until July 1. Those are great trade flexibility pieces to help us execute another CP3 type trade before free agency next summer.
Oh, Thank you for the reasoning behind your targets of Collison/Jefferson. I respect that. 1) Im leaning towards one player at PF, under contract control beyond this season. That individual could always be traded in the summer or next year if fit is not there. 2) pick up two players from buyout market to fill PG/wing and bench center. Tyson Chandler fits one spot. Chinanu and Black could be expendable buyouts if need be for bench upgrade.
Not even surprised by this. I'd take Tiago Splitter next up. A guy who can actually play logical basktball without having a his hand held. Black is a joke.
I'd take Kenneth Faried. Hes a better version of Montrez and would be suitable against the Julius Randles type players that kill us. Faried would be PERFECT for this roster
