I honestly don't know how many players would fit in that scenario, Batum comes to my mind but that wouldn't be an upgrage imo, other names i don't know now, but i assume the Rockets knew the potential trade partners and value of expiring Gordon already after they had talks about him for at least one year, if they extended him i guess it's because they knew they were not going to get enough value out of him this season.

Covington, Ibaka, and Iggy are probably unrealistic. Ariza and Gibson are washed. Marvin Williams would be a decent get.
Robert Covington has to prove he is healthy and it would likely require a mult team deal, but he would be an ideal fit for the Rockets. He can easily lock down three positions on the Rockets with his size (6’9” 230 lbs), length (7’3” wingspan) and mobility. He is a volume 3 point shooter that blocks shots, gets steals and is an adequate rebounder. His injury issues, age and offensive limitations also make him a some what plausible option.

They need to add size badly on the front line. If they could trade Capela for Covington and somehow pickup Holmes the defense would be much improved.

if our only trade chips are tucker and capela, a trade won't improve our defense. nene and Gerald aren't getting traded without their consent which means they aren't getting traded. Macklemore is needed and isn't getting combined into an offer with Harty and clark. harty and clark combine for less money than our biggest TPE so it makes more sense to just use the TPE and waive Ryno. we will have to rely on our $3.6M TPE and some second rounders if we are going to improve by trade. I'd target these guys using a package of TPE and 2nds: Kenrich Williams - maybe logjam means they will be open to moving him for 2nds? caboclo - I think everything is for sale in MEM bembry - maybe he's the odd man out with hunter, Huerter, and reddish on the wing. maybe they would be willing to collect picks if they fall out of the playoff picture prince - if the nets continue to struggle they might be willing to sell for picks, especially if they don't want to pay him this summer
