Does anyone else hate All-Star weekend?

I cannot stand it ! I dread it every year ! It takes Roxs basketball away for a week

 

I really hate it now. It was bad enough before because there was nothing going on in the sports world. So you take away basketball at a time when the NFL is done and MLB hasn't started yet and what is there to talk about(and don't you dare mention the Olympics or hockey!).

Now though it's even worse. The break has been extended several days which means the NBA is off for a week. Plus they moved the trade deadline ahead a couple weeks, so we don't even have trades and roster moves to speculate over.

 

I agree with a lot of other people here, there needs to be some more events to spice up the All-Star weekend. I think somebody said dodgeball? That would actually be pretty hilarious, and I'd watch the **** out of that. Maybe an Anthem singing competition too, can't see the players doing much worse than the Fergs...

Olympics and hockey are both enjoyable. Hockey is my favorite sport. Branch out. You might find that even though you don't like them as much, they're funner than complaining about NBA all-star break on a message board.

I don't think I've really enjoyed an NBA All Star game since Ralph Sampson was its MVP in 1985. I like the break, though, and the excitement that surrounds it with the trade deadline and the buyouts. The players sure need the time off. I just hope James doesn't have too much fun. I want everyone tip-top for the home stretch.

Very much, ego-fest, contrived trash, waste of time, didn't watch, joke, get rid of, give ALL players a good long break.

 

I remember reading that nba players have certain activity that they cannot do when they are on contract with the team and paintball is one of them.

 

It's ok.

Like the team getting some rest but honestly 1 week away feels like forever

 

I'd like to get into hockey but there's no team around here and I'm not turning in my H-town card to support Arlington.

 

Players need the week off. How many Rockets are banged up. Just think - Paul, Ariza, Capela, Harden, Luc, Gordon - all have been banged up in one form or another.

 

Oh boi, that's why they give out rubbers when the games start.
