if it lands you love for TJ/DMo hell yea you do it. you can sign another PF vet as a backup off of the street with Love and it would be a better combo than jones/DMo
Moury's specialty is role players ... With a starting 5 like that and keeping the MLE .... We're set to add the necessary complementary players... Players like jones and dmo are easily replaceable, harden Howard and love are players that are not...
We have European prospects we could trade. We don't have to trade both of them. We need our MLE for a backup center.
Thompson is just equal to CP in my opinion. Better shooter, better defender, better half court scorer. Parsons wins in transition offense (where he is awesome), leadership (just IMO), rebounding and IMO passing. Thompson should get paid more long term. I think 10M will get Parsons and that is probably fair. I think he needs a small slice of humble pie and a return to his defensive roots. I remember watching Parsons his first year and just being amazed at his defense. The GSW offer is fabricated much like their play for DH12 was a year ago. I guess that Love could muscle his way there if he truly wants to be in Cali. Does Curry get through another year healthy? Does Bogut?
I would think a 4 team deal could be done (assuming NO is looking to get rid of Gordon and the Wolves want to ditch Kevin Martin) that would have the Rockets sending Jones and picks to the Wolves, Asik to NO, and Lin to Philly. Houston would get Love, NO would get Asik and Kevin Martin, and the Wolves would get Gordon, Jones, and picks. I think that could work out for all parties in that they are all going different directions.
No, that's a stupid trade. We have better trade options that we could send them that we don't need. Why send both Power Forwards? If you want to end up winning, you don't send your entire bench. You send the ones that you're not using. While using the money on players that we need in our bench in the center position.
My guess is the King's ransom, I haven't put it in the trade machine because Asik is already on the Pelican's roster. I'm assuming this works. Asik, Kevin Martin to New Orleans Eric Gordon, DMO, TJones, Rights to all three of our Euro Hotshots (Kostas, Sergio, Capela), NOP Pick, Hou 2015/2017 1st and 2nd round picks to Minnesota. Kevin Love, Budinger to Houston This gets us Love in my opinion and it is an absurd amount of outgoing pieces but it does a lot for Minnesota's rebuild and current situation. I can't see them turning that down. Beverly / Lin Harden / Daniels/ Johnson Parsons / Bud Love / Vet minimum Howard / Okafor with MLE This is the best team in the West.
It's not ideal for the rotation, but from a value standpoint it's outstanding. Love is worth way more than that offer, and we'd be idiots not to take it.
Is Doc normally this quiet on twitter? You'd think there'd be at least an opinion tweet the day before FA.
Wow. We definitely will not turn that down because of dmo and TJ. Think about salary dumps we may get back in return as well. Like I said earlier, MLE and vet minimum contracts would fill that 8 and 9 rotation slot quickly.
$5.15 million for non-taxpaying teams over the cap Would we not be a team over the cap if we kept Lin and brought in Love?
My understanding is that teams that signed guys with cap space couldn't use the MLE in the same year, we'd be re-signing Parsons so I thought that would kill our MLE for this year. Then again I'm no expert in those rules.
