I've been saying this for a while now. If we are going to make a run about both Paul and Dwight, then moving Lin/Asik to Boston to Rondo and Lee is the launching pad for it. If the Doc/KG thing had gone down then this would have obvioiusly not been a possibility. But if the trade stays off I can see this unfolding. Clippers would probably prefer Rondo anyways making about $6 million a season less than Paul to go along with their cheaper coaching hire. Typical Clippers style. Everything fits quite nicely.
Can't see Lee back in Houston at that type of coin with Harden going into his big money years at the same position. Of course they want to get rid of Lee and/or Terry but can't see Morey taking them back with out some were to send them. If Doc stays in Boston Rondo goes, and I think KG retires if they/he is not competing for a ring. I can see KG waving the trade clause to play for Mchale. I only see KG playing for a few coaches Rivers, Mchale and Pop( I don't think the Spurs have the assets to make the move).

Sports. Talks started again on Sunday when the Clippers offered the Celtics a first-round pick to free Rivers from his contract with Boston, sources said. Rivers and the Clippers are working on the language of a five-year, $35 million contract, and no agreement will be in place until those details are finalized, sources said. Rivers told the Clippers that he was no longer interested in the position on Friday, but pressure from the franchise's star player, Chris Paul, stayed strong on Clippers management over the weekend and Los Angeles reconsidered its unwillingness to give Boston a first-round pick, sources said. The NBA will still need to approve the deal. Rivers had gone into the weekend planning to decide his future with the Celtics, and sources said he had been leaning strongly toward returning next season to fulfill the three years and $21 million left on his contract. With the Celtics moving into a rebuilding phase, several sources told Yahoo! Sports that Boston management preferred draft-pick compensation over paying for an elite coach.
So I guess CP3 said something along the lines of offer that first rounder for Doc or I walk. If this goes down CP3 is definitely not coming to Houston. Rondo and Lee for Lin and Asik is interesting though. Rondo/Beverly Harden/Lee Parsons Jones/Moti Howard/Smith Interesting....
Ken Berger @KBergCBS In the NBA's view, nothing has changed regarding a Doc Rivers compensation deal. It's not allowed to be attached to players, period. Ken Berger @KBergCBS League office will take a skeptical view of any Rivers transaction, sources say. Will be hard to sell as separate from player discussions.
Either the clips get fleeced (giving up a first rounder in a good draft for a coach) or the league vetoes this obvious circumvention.
Bill Simmons @BillSimmons about 26 minutes ago Celts saved 21 mill, lost a coach who had already quit on them + picked up an unprotected future 1st from a crazy franchise. Nice day.
