    That's the Kansas City Chiefs' original name, not the Cowboys. The Cowboys have always been the Cowboys.

    The Oilers won the 1st two AFL championships and were in the championship game in their 3rd year. The AFL wasn't as good as the NFL but they were able to steal a ton of draft choice away from the NFL so they had a decent amount of talent. The Oilers stole the NFL's number 1 draft pick in their inaugural season which should matter for something.

    What I'm saying. Burns me up that those jersey numbers hang from rafters in Neckville rather than Houston.

    I think getting to the 20 year mark will be a symbolic plateau in a lot of peoples' minds and if the team is still good then I think a lot more people will move on from the Oilers name.

    Just like the oilers is the Titans original name. The Texans have always been he Texans

    Yeah, that's a shorter and even less relevant time frame than the 15 years I was comparing. Adams and Hunt bankrolling the other owners was a bigger contribution than anything they did on the field back then, probably the one thing that actually scared the NFL.
