He proved last year he is fairly healthy and can be a role player. For the most part he wasn't a cancer on the Pistons except for some minor whining and beef with an inexperienced head coach. Mcgrady also showed he has some game left and is worth the vet min.

    Pos

Fan interest, name recognition, maybe fill some seats
Maybe Mcgrady can occasionally be TMAC
He's very tall, good court vision, good passer

    Cons

    Ego
Maybe be a cancer, don't know yet
    TOF

Last season only the Pistons offered him a contract and it was the vet min. I'm pretty sure the Rockets could get him for a similar deal and it might be appealing to Mcgrady to return to his old stomping grounds where he had some glory. Plus he owns a house here.

Yes, what we need is more role players.

Ugh I don't know. His ego and attitude were so bad but that was totally different when he was in his prime.

Mcgrady for the vet min is like a lottery ticket. If he rehabs more this summer 2 years after his surgery there is a very slim chance that he can regain 85% of his former self which would be a 20 ppg guy with good court vision.

If he stinks let him rot on the bench and used for practice

If he is a cancer you can always cut him since it's just the vet min

Nevermind that he's a cancer. We wouldn't have any room for him in the rotation.

No, there's no room for him. The only positions he can play (1 through 3) are already three players deep on our roster.

    PG: Lowry, Dragic, Flynn
    SG: Martin, Lee, Williams
    SF: Morris, Budinger, Parsons

McGrady is best off on a contender, where he can come off the bench as an X-Factor to help put a contender over the top. Celtics, Spurs, Lakers, Mavericks, Heat, etc. could use a guy of his talent in a six man role off the bench.

He showed last season he can play the 1,2 or 3 position.

We don't need him, don't want him, and won't get him (not because he is hard to sign or anything). Full stop.

It was clear that he burned every bridge possible with the FO and honestly, most Rockets fans with his antics. Move on. Dwelling in the past is for stupid people.

Only if he grows 4 inches, bulks up 30 pounds and can play center for us.

If our backcourt wasn't crowded, I would mind having him back. But honestly, I want to see him with a serious contender(Lakers)...

I don't care what some of you( or most ) think. We are closer to contention than you think. The truth is, Yao is gone, Cousin and Blakeley will get cut and Parsons may not even play in the NBA this season, so we would have the room. McGrady next to Martin would be badass!

    Bahahahahahahahaha....eff no.
Mcgrady has shown that he only plays well when he feels like it...he can no longer be a consistently good ROLE PLAYER, let alone a consistently good starter. The guy is up and down and will continue to be that way until he's down so much that no one will take him. He's just riding the NBA train until it kicks him off. It's amazing how many people have their heads up his jock so far that they are blinded by his prostatic juices...he's done...quit this pathetic mancrush crap ffs.
