Find even a 10 game stretch of Shumpert just shooting as well as House has, for the past 4 years. I challenge you. Let alone the rom finishing and rebounding. I’d be amazed if Shumpert even did over 55 TS% for a month since 2015. He’s a career 51 TS% guy IIRC. And his defense has regressed. He’s not the athlete he was in his early 20s, no one is in their late 20s. House is so much better it’s not even funny.
You guys are so delusional calling for House who has been in the G-league for months, when the team is on a 9 game winning streak against the top seed Warriors. Shumpert will get his chance first because he has seniority. That is who MDA is and I can understand it even though I may not completely agree with it. It’s similar to inserting injured bench players first game available. Simply put: House came from the G-league, Shumpert a playoff vet and champion takes priority because of experience. Also, if you bench Shumpert you get another Anderson like and lose that players confidence.
Yea lets bring a guy who just got back from the G League agaisnt the defending champs....great logic there.
Agree that House ain't some savior but he's proven in recent play this year to at least be a rotation player. Shumpert's being in the playoffs on a Lebron led team is irrelevant, as the coach didn't even bother playing him in any of the recent playoffs. You could say that JR Smith should play minutes for us by that logic, since he actually played and started in the finals. I'm not high on House as some others, he's still a relatively unknown, but we do know Shumpert's not going to cut it. Instead of bashing House, why not take a chance on something that may work instead of going with something that's sure to fail. Outside of our top 5 guys, House at least has the potential to be the player with the least holes in his game, and give us some meaningful minutes against actual playoff teams. Shumpert, Faried and Green are what they are, specialists with one skill, who are completely useless to us when they can't even demonstrate the one skill that's still keeping them in the league.
I am not bashing House or Shumpert just stating facts, don’t spin my words around. Shumpert is on the end of the bench rotation. Today’s game clearly showed that the coaches spoke with him to shoot freely. He’s not use to this playing style but he’s making some bone headed mistakes like shooting 2’s and defense slack while also showing some positives with passing and few defensive plays. For him to get any minutes and become a rotational player, he needs to take shots while also putting everything out on the floor. That’s an evaluation that MDA and his staff are working on. He won’t play if he doesn’t take 3’s point shots or shoot long 2’s in this system. You just can’t teach playoff experience, it’s completey different. House also hasn’t played or been around the team in few months plus he just got converted on his two way contract. There is no way MDA will play House ahead of Shumpert until he is confident that Shumpert can’t defend and/or doesn’t get the basic offensive system. Sometimes it’s hard to teach an old dog new tricks. I would rather see a 10 man rotation in the next games and cut it before the playoffs for minutes rhythm. It’s a tough decision for a coach but easy to say for fans. I don’t know how to explain this to you further, I guess you either understand it or you don’t. Either way just enjoy basketball and the Rockets!
Whats up with pringles and his reasons for playing that bum shumpert over D. House... my God sit that dude down and cut him next year. House needs playing time.
when shumpert misses, he produces quite possibly some of the ugliest bricks i've ever seen. it's like with ryno, his misses were in-and-out so teams were still weary about leaving him wide open. but when they see shumpert's glass breakers & rim rattlers they just double off of this scrub all day long
