frankly, making the playoffs in the nba isn't a huge achievement. and they've hardly even achieved that post championship season. being 8th seed and never advancing is worst than being in the lottery.

I like all of my teams equally. I love pro football over pro basketball though. That's not taking anything away from pro basketball, but there's really nothing else like Sundays in the fall and winter. Fantasy football is also so much fun.

I love the Rockets, but the Texans are easily my #1. I also have far more interest in watching college or NFL football as opposed to Basketball.

I started watching Rockets way before Texans, so they get my vote.

Football games are so much more intense. If more people had the Texans tailgating experience along with the game, then this wouldn't be close.

Consistent playoff appearances? Where you a fan over the last decade +?

Plus as I'm sure others have said it's not an accomplishment to make the playoffs in the nba. More teams make it than don't.

I love the Rockets. I'm glad they finally are relevant on paper again. And hope they can produce on court as they are being hyped up for.

I'm a huge fan of both teams. Enjoy the nfl experience over the nba.

I watch the Rockets when they are available on TV. But no other nba games.

Doesn't matter. He has always trolled the Texans and their fans.

I became a Houston Oilers fan at the same time I became a Rockets fan. The Texans are equal to me. They don't have to be for other people on here, but trolling will be called out. Someone says "screw the expansion team" (Houston Texans), I'm gonna reply with screw you too.

I LOVE how guys like tinman call the Houston Rockets the Rockets strictly. tinman is on record saying that he wouldn't support another NBA team if we had to get a new expansion team. To me, it's all about the city first.

Two rings, four finals performances and the greatest athlete in Houston history. No contest.

I watch the Texans and Rockets religiously(only pay attention to the scores or the Stros games) but I'm a Houston Sports fan through and through

Some of the answers as to why you guys wouldn't choose the Texans over the Rockets are too asinine to even comprehend. I have equal love for both teams, but it's fairly obvious which team is going to win on a ROCKETS forum.

Love the teams equally, but I have to tip the scale towards my favorite athlete in all of sports for the past two years: #99 of the Texans.

Right now, I have to go with the team I can actually watch on TV.

And this is coming from a guy who has been a rabid Rockets fan for over 30 years. I was literally born and raised a Rockets fan. I have memories of going to games when I was a kid before they built the Summit.

Easily the Rockets for me but I'm more of an NFL fan than I am NBA fan now. I say that happened about 3 years ago.

I live in Houston, where football is king apparently, and I will still take Rockets winning an NBA Title over the Texans winning a SB any time any day. Period.

Rockets easily. The Texans weren't around during my childhood/formative years. I don't see how you can ever form the same bond with a pro team in your 20s or older.

oh damn I would much much rather have a Super Bowl.

Super Bowl > World Series > NBA Championship

In order of what I would rather watch on TV:

    NFL > NBA > MLB
