Curry is tagged as the 'best shooter', but in my opinion he's more skilled than Kobe.

    3 questions:

    1. How can one be the Greatest All Around Player and not be the Greatest Player?

    2. How can one be the most skilled and not be the greatest player of all time?

    3. How can one be the most skilled and have missed more shots than any player in the history of the NBA?

Kobe is a marketing tool not to be placed in the greatest of anything except most hyped.

Mutumbo was the best defensive player of all time. If it weren't for Mutumbo Hakeem would have probably had more DPOY.

I like how they leave off two really import categories: rebounder and thief

I would have also like greatest winner and most clutch. Dribbler would have been interesting too.

Also, Jordan was more skilled than Kobe. Hell, so was his teammate, Steve Nash.

What I think definitons are (for a graphic a 22 year old in Peru might have put up for all we know)

    - Greatest All-Around = Most array of skills at say 7 and higher.
    EX: 7 Shooting 9 Driving 9 Dunking 8 Passing 8 Rebounding, 8.5 Defense, Etc

    - Greatest PLAYER = Most EFFECTIVE player even with some skills not as high all-around
EX: Patrick Ewing is a more All-Around Player than Shaquille O'Neal, but Shaq is a dominant GREATER player despite lacking in shooting, free throws, defensive rotations, etc. Don't have to have 7's and up all-around to be better

Terrence Jones is a more all-around player than Chuck Hayes, but Hayes is a better player.

If Kobe (and many other superstars) take lessons from Dream. The most skilled is obviously Dream.

I would put Wilt as greatest player, and might put Kareem ahead of Jordan as well.

You can say what you want about Kobe but he was a killer when he was still wearing #8.

    Very good and valid point.

If it is footwork skills only Dream is 100 levels above everyone else.

If I had the choice between Dream or Lebron, I'm taking dream. I don't even understand the idea that Lebron is even close to dream.

Dream never played with the type of talent that Lebron, Kobe, Shaq, Magic, Tim, Larry, Michael, did.

If you put dram on the bulls with pippen and dennis, and let michael have the kind of players that dream had, it would be so a different story.

The one time dream had a talent next to him they got to the finals right away (Ralph).

Lebron gets praised for what he did his first stint in clevland but the east back then sucked.

    Define skilled.

There is not a definition which I can think of that makes Kobe the most skilled.

    The rest is pretty accurate.

Olajuwon should be greatest skill, greatest all around player and greatest defender.

Dominique Wilkins should be greatest dunker.

Agree with the rest of the choices.
