Don't worry about seeds, people. I would rather our coach worry about resting players when they need it and winning winnable games. Remember guys, the season is a marathon while the playoffs are a sprint to the finish line.
Seeing how it seems that all of the rockets postseason embarrassments come from a home game 6, we should go for the #1 seed. Except for those two times we blew a home game 7 back to back.
I’m sorry, but how is this even a question? Of course you want the 1st seed. Homecourt advantage throughout the entire playoffs.
Posters say they want #1 to avoid SA - but Spurs could fall to 4th. It doesn't matter. We're ballers, so we should fear no one. Main thing is health
The Rockets lost their first game against the Thunder in OKC last season. How did the rest of the regular season and playoff matchups go?
Demarcus went down. Why are you so afraid of Pelicans? I would agree they might be the worst first rounder for us to go against, but come on now....
Even if its not legitimacy per say, it is more "epic" to win against the best at their strongest, and if anything it brings the best out of both sides. The Rockets championship runs are in part so memorable because of the stiff competition and pressure-packed clutch plays that had to be executed in order to win them. The 2011 Mavs run is also very memorable because of this and the 2012 and 2013 Miami runs necessitated some legendary performances from Lebron (and a ridiculous shot from Allen). The 2014 Spurs run was, well, boring (but they still won at the end of the day, to your point.) The 2016 WCF and NBA Finals were epic and I remember a lot of moments from then. 2017 Warriors run was a snoozefest. Basketball, at the end of the day, is entertainment, and it is much more entertaining when you see something amazing, or unbelievable happen.
You want to be the best then you got to beat the best. Obstacles are part and parcel of the playoffs because there is no easy series. I rather have HCA all throughout the playoffs then not.
Impossible to say how the seeding will shake up as of right now. All we know is that Houston and GSW will be either #1 or #2. After that it's a guess. So as of right now, I do want the #1 seed but that changes for me based on match ups. I'm not one of these "doesn't matter who we play" types. For me, I want the path I think gives us the best odds to advance to the finals and win.
After seeing the Astros battle through Boston, NYY, and L.A., if you're the best, you're the best. Ain't nothing cheap about the Astros run, and after the "but Jordan retired" bs surrounding the Rockets in 94/95 trophies, I don't care how tough the matchups are, just win baby.
All I know is that the players want the 1 seed. I'm pretty sure they don't give a **** what we think.
