You look at the recent signing of Papa, hefty size contract for an unproven player, looking at the current roster they needed more money to maybe use for trade bait, and the assets with the pick, also the glut of players based on current depth, is there going to be some sorta trade coming now or near the end of this season? What would be good trading partner predication. Would a player like Nate Robinson fit the bill , say if you wanted to to grab one of many center that the nuggets have now? Mozgov? There got to be some kinda trade in the works...
I wouldn't read into it. This certainly makes salary matching easier for us in the case of a large trade but it's another flexibility move that doesn't guarantee anything will happen.
Not up their sleeves. They're just very well prepared for potential opportunities in the near future.
I'm sure Morey would rather a trade for that third elite player come sooner (by trade deadline) rather than later (next offseason). But it just depends when that player becomes available. I doubt Morey has specific plans to wait until one of the big names is a free agent. It seems he's just waiting for the right player to shake loose, and who knows when that will be? When you say "have a trade up their sleeves" it implies that they have one available and for some reason just haven't pulled the trigger yet. I'm sure there are plenty of trades they'd like to make, but it takes two teams to tango.
The Rockets have hundreds of trades up their sleeves. Whether they can get anyone to agree to one of them is another matter.
