That's it. I search Houston, TX on Google Maps and it doesn't include those villages (or West U/Southside or Bellaire).

There was an article recently over the to wealthiest (or something like that) cities in the US, and Piney Point Village was one of them. Dafuq.

Yeah, the villages definitely don't get to count themselves as having their own identities. That's ridiculous. Those places are just legal constructs rich people have used to shield themselves from the huddled masses.

Yep. I mean even Sharpstown used to consider themselves high and fancy at one point. Now Jersey Village might as well be the new Sharpstown but with Asians.

It's all good to rep Houston to get "street cred" when it suits you but when you hear a story about "Urban" violence you huddle back in you imaginary green house and claim refuge in "I live in Spring Branch though".

That's the stuff that pisses me off. folks that take credit for Houston being diverse turn on a dime and trash talk it for being "ghetto" when their buddy from out of town makes a comment.

Here it is: Bloomberg's "Wealthiest Towns in America" number 11:

I wonder if the Piney Pointers talk mess about those Bunker Hillers.

There's an Episcopal school there in Piney Point Village I used to do IT work at and man it is crazy that they are considered their own town. Even have their own police department. People picking up their kids in ferrari's and stuff like that.

Yes, for the same reason the Red Sox get a six-state media market, and corresponding payroll, and the Redskins used to own the South.
