It's funny how just stating a normal non-radical or libertarian opinion without personal attacks sets y'all off. Gotten in your head.

I thought y'all were the fact based side (vaccines, GMOs, and Venezuela aside, of course).

Explain this "exploitation" of the poor in ight of this graph and the fact that the US has been projecting power and capitalism the whole centurry.

No doubt about it, the American century has been the best for the poor ever.

If you argue that it creates jobs, you must not be considering how many jobs are lost once those wars run their course.

For example, how many jobs are lost once the huge corporations which employ a large majority of Americans decide that the new government is so friendly to the idea of terrible working conditions, criminally low pay and willingness to beat down any movement to change that?

America has lost 10's of thousands of factories in this way. The ideal situation would be that those lost jobs are replaced by more advanced job opportunities within a knowledge economy, but we all know by now that there is no rational way in which that can happen fast enough for the all the unemployed to become employed again.

The other thing is, the US has been at war forever. If it was true there are all these positive benefits to reap, then the huge majority of Americans would be on an upward trend towards better standard of living, better education, less global resentment towards the US. None of these things, however, are true. It's the opposite.

The only way to rationalize this is that domestic policy is so terrible that foreign policy is managing to keep those things stagnant vs letting them decline. But that comes back to the heart of the ridiculous argument that there might be a government that displays radically different quality of management, rights protection, care for human beings at home than they do abroad. That's an absurd notion. Historically, governments have tried to paint this image, but not a single example has shown it. If they're killing and stealing abroad, then they'll eventually do it at home. If they're treating foreigners like humans, than they will treat their citizens like humans. Of course, the preference is always to do dirty work abroad rather than at home, but that doesn't mean they are the OPPOSITE at home.

They are robbing everyone and they started robbing you hardcore decades ago. If you only knew the proceeds from war. It's not just the defense contractors. It's the McDonalds and the starbucks too. The coke and pepsi. That money goes to the 1% and most Americans never see it, nor do the citizens of the foreign countries. The citizens of the Cayman Islands and Bermuda don't even see it. The secret deals that you never even hear about. The most crazy things you guys don't even know about and the press won't even tell you. Nor will the other candidates cause they have their dirty little secrets too.

There's too much greed up there for anything to trickle down. There is no doubt that if the money spent on war and empire was reduced by even 30-40% in addition to doubling the tax on the highest income bracket, funneling that into education and infrastructure and healthcare would deliver a boom in jobs, standard of living and innovation like you guys haven't seen since maybe the 50's and 60's. You know it, you know it. There is no way being at war this much is creating more opportunities for the 90% than they would get if the money was reinvested into Americans.

Anyway, the war economy is coming to a close. One or two more groups of Americans will get fed up soon and everyone will regret not changing their mind and democrats will rewrite history to say they always wanted to do something about it and Republicans will label them terrorists. Won't matter. Nothing of value was ever voluntarily given to the public by the powerful neither in America or anywhere else in the world. The powerful in America are drunk now, they are out of touch with reality. The hangover will be tough.
