Do former Rockets players who are on TV have to blindly defend the Rockets now?

    I was 4 effin years old. Lol Only reason I know of it because I have the 1994 Finals 7 game dvd collection. :cool:

    Did you when the rockets acquired kenny smith he averaged 17.7 points and 7 assists a game and shot 52 percent?

    Also did realize on your kenny smith comment that Derrick harper was overusing the hand check? They changed the rule in 1994 because of that. Hand checking is not allowed anymore now.
    Kenny smith and the rockets guards of cassell and maxwell would run buck wild in today's league

    I know we're old but i don't want newbs to be misinformed about the past.

    kenny smith shouldn't be criticized for a series that his team won. Plus he played an excellent playoff series.

    and let's not forget 95 against Orlando

    He's a former rocket and he doesn't have to show bias view points toward the rockets of today on a tv sports show.

    Same with jvg, but nobody is criticizing jvg when he says the rockets should have kept parsons

    Not the same thing. What JVG said was his opinion, what people are upset about is that Barkley was basically LYING and spewing wrong facts on TV to satisfy his argument (you cannot have the second worse defense and have one of the top five records in the league), and neither Kenny or Ernie tried to correct him, which to ANYONE with little common sense knows that is false.

    They had other segments of the show to get to, it would be pointless to argue because they knew Barkley was wild up about the rockets

    First, in what universe were JVG's comments about Parsons a slam on the Rockets? They weren't. That's why nobody is criticizing him.

    Second, JVG constantly praises the Rockets, probably too a fault. I can't count how many times I've cringed when he picks us to go all the way, because it feels like a jinx.

    Third, Kenny Smith doesn't need to biased towards the Rockets, he just needs to be forcefully objective when Barkley makes his ridiculously negative comments about the Rockets. Which is every time we play on TNT. That's the least I would expect from a former player on our championship teams.

    tinman expects fans to bend over backwards to defend the Rockets from that era, regardless of how ****ty a person they are, yet he doesn't expect Rockets from that era to defend the franchise that they were apart of when they reached the pinnacle of their profession.

    Actually, I think I'm going to start a new thread about this!!!
