i would be interested in hearing from other board members who have done DMT. i recently enjoyed DMT and wow... i'm not really a religious person, but after seeing what i saw on DMT my view of the supernatural is evolving. i'm reconsidering my belief system - i'm becoming more open to the idea of an alternate universe. maybe after this life we simply pass into another universe? alex grey's artwork holds a new meaning for me. feel free to post your DMT experiences or feedback in this thread. this painting by alex grey is almost exactly what i saw. Spoiler
how does alex grey paint almost EXACTLY what i've seen? is there something to that?
Can't tell you how jealous I am of you.. I've been searching for over 2 years to do so. All I hear is how great it is and how its potentially life changing.. Even doing shrooms for the first time, I awoke with a skewed but better view of life, the universe, and myself in general. I can only imagine the light bulbs turned on and doors unlocked once taken DMT I envy you so..
Yeah. It's completely natural. No one has ever died, overdosed, or anything negative. I think it's just too powerful and out lawed for theoretical reasons.

the closest I came to DMT is watching Enter the Void. It was a pretty ****ed up movie. The guy get's killed by the cops while on DMT, has an out of body experience, then get's stuck outside his body. Supposedly DMT is the chemical that surges the brain when you die.. or so the saying goes. I'd suggest watching it if your into DMT or just want to watch a messed up movie. here's the movie synopsis:
I'm pretty interested in exploring this kind of stuff, in theory. But in reality, responsibility doesn't allow me to take the risk. What if I die? What if it drives me crazy, even temporarily and I 'wake up' a year later in prison or the loony bin?
you need to read a few books about the stuff. there are negative things that have happened because of people making it in home and too strong. etc. etc. etc. in saying that I'm not saying don't do it though. it is worth reading up on.
If your life is so unfulfilling that you have to take drugs in order to find something of value in it, that is pretty sad.
Now in my 40s...I find that the long term effects of entheogen use is just...different. While I think that experimenting with these chemicals during "youth" (around the age of 18) has its benefits, it can also be detrimental in some areas. The main "pro" for early experimentation is the lack of psychological "baggage" that can play a role in the subconscious mind. The younger user has a mental freedom that lends itself to a potentially greater ability to "let go" of "this world." That said, it can also give one an altered perspective that might not necessarily benefit certain necessary social development required for healthy living in a society that tends to frown on free thinking. Oh...it might cause rambling too... Just be very careful with these substances. Make sure you're in a VERY safe environment. It helps to have at least one non-partaker around...just in case. Entheogens are very different from "regular drugs." The profound psychological effects can literally change one's life forever. Not necessarily in a "bad" way...
my life is not unfulfilling and i find plenty of value in my life. this experience altered my perception, in a positive way, and has opened my mind to religious ideals in a way i couldn't have understood before. i totally agree and am not advocating doing this kind of thing all the time. i trust the people who introduced it to me and we had one person sober the entire time. also worth noting... though a short trip, the time is just as adventurous as a mushroom trip (without the down) and nearly as euphoric as MDMA. DMT is the active ingredient in ayahuasca, which has been known to have been in use by indigenous peoples of south america for hundreds of years. since the experience there are two things that keep coming back to me. 1 - the civilizations who have accepted this as part of their culture (ayahuasca, or whatever) draw dramatically different conclusions about the supernatural than typical judeo-christian beliefs. this, like mushrooms, can be an entirely spiritual experience. 2 - the visuals i experienced, seeing the same 3rd eye as what others have described/painted, has me wondering why i'm seeing the same things. why wasn't my experience unique? ...this is what has me thinking that this is a way to tap into another dimension thats around us all the time, but we just can't see it. at least thats what i'm thinking... i'm still pondering the experience and have yet to draw any sure-fire conclusions.
If your life is so unfulfilling that you have to find threads where you can look down/judge people in order to find value in yourself, that is way more unbelievably sad.
Oh ok yeah thats right I listened to a Joe Rogan podcast where some guy went to mexico for a DMT retreat.
somebody needs to take some shrooms Yeah, that guy went there and was lucky enough to experience the ayahuasca (pronounced eye-a-wa-ska) tribal ceremony. This is suppose to eliminate you of ALL ego amongst other things no one may ever experience. Here's the podcast episode Sac was talking about (I'm assuming) It's a fantastic story that discusses a side of the world we'll NEVER see. Highly recommend giving it a listen if you have plenty of time to kill
