(from NBA Hoops Rumors) A year after his restricted free agency became one of the NBA’s most bizarre offseason storylines, Donatas Motiejunas may be on the verge of heading overseas to continue his career. Stavros Barbarousis of Eurohoops suggests that China appears to be the most likely landing spot for Motiejunas, though the big man has received interest from European clubs, including Zalgiris Kaunas in his home country of Lithuania.
sucks BJ had to ruin his career and poorly advised him on his contract deal. He could have been a solid backup for us last year and probably still playing in the NBA. Dmo is a stand up guy but just bad advice from his former agent
I like DMo and think he's still a viable NBA rotation guy. He's getting bad advice right now, but needs a reality check and reassess his career standing. No way should he have to go overseas, that's ridiculous.
The same people that believed @Pounder are the same people that thought Morey should have agreed to all of Dmo's Brooklyn incentives.
Based on his NOLA performance, let's stop talking about DMo losing $38m. That contract was heavily non-guaranteed. The original offer sheet had a guaranteed trigger date of March 1st to guarantee the 2nd year. Based on his performance for NOLA, does he even survive that cut date with BKN or Houston. I think Morey definitely cuts him at March 1st for Summer cap flexibility. Morey's revised contract had a trigger date of July 7th -- Morey definitely cuts him, due to Paul and Melo Mark me down as a firm believer after watching him play at NOLA, that even had he signed the BKN deal, or he reported after we matched it as is, he'd still be without a contract now and heading to China or Europe. Dude proved he's a minimum player while on NOLA, and you got to cut that $9m for the 2nd year. At the very best, DMo cons BKN into not cutting him on March 1st, after playing like crap in Dec, Jan and Feb like he did at NOLA, but his Year 3 and 4 get cut, later.
So you have fun giving attention to a troll and perma-banned member who is trying to piss off Clutch with his childish Bi-UID behavior. I'm so disappoint.
true but he wasn't in a good position to succeed once he was in NO. He didn't have camp to sort of get rid of the rust and then it was impossible to get playing time with Davis and Cousins. Anywho feel bad for him since he's honestly a good guy but hey he still have made millions
That's a huge excuse. He played 20 games before Cousins. That was a perfect situation for about 2 months before Cousins. Varejoa (in his 2008 holdout) and any other holdout had zero problem proving they are back. The lock out year, the entire league went with essentially no camp, and they all proved they could play. That's just a DMoF excuse. Did you watch him play? The guy was clearly not the same DMo. And the actual offer sheet would have had him playing Dec 6th. That would give Morey and BKN even more time to assess whether to cut him by March 1st.
if i were one of his players, i'd ditch bj armstring very publicly. how he still has the confidence of his clients after mishandling donuts is beyond me. isn't draymond one of his clients?
I have no doubt DMO has a great year playing next to James Harden. James Harden makes us think ok players are untouchable.
