It was a hold for 2 or 3 days (which was no big deal) then turned to a charge after that. Called the hotel several times yesterday and they were of no help. Left VM for manager and he hasn't called back. So I called Chase and filed a dispute. I'm going to leave it in their hands. I've won a few disputes using their Freedom card, but never with a debit card. Say what you want about the big banks, but I've never had anything but good experiences with Chase since they bought out Washington Mutual.
Never book through the travel websites. I got screwed over that way in a similar fashion. Book direct.
