Lol. I can't imagine the amount of illegal narcotics and alcohol that went into making this post. It may be the worst in the history of the internet
This overvalued thread started by driving deliberately hard and fast, only to jump in the air and spin around in circles recklessly before enough good points were made. I suspect, and hope, it will be turned over to the dish soon.
it's going to go either way. lin is a young player and really hasn't had a chance to learn the game from anyone since he's been in the league and mchale isn't the best at mentoring a young guard as seen by last few pg's we've had to go on to do bigger and better things as a pg. lin basically needs someone to school him on how to play pg and he'll get that chance now with both scott and nash there to mentor so it's win/win.
Wait? Isn't the whole argument from Lin fans saying he needs D'Antoni again. Don't say he never had a coach to learn from....then later say D'Antoni was his perfect coach.
dantoni didn't do anything to help lin's game except keep it simple, he was exposed when teams started to key on him. he has some raw skills but here just didn't have anyone to help him get any better. lin is gone wish him the best.
what can one expect from a coach other than adjust the offense to put you in a situation to succeed with your skill set. That is exactly what D'Antoni did, because Melo was injured. And, like you said, other coaches will go to school on your videos and expose your weaknesses, once you become a threat. Lin became a threat, and defensive coaches adjusted. NBA Coaches are not teachers with enough practice time to teach individual players. It's up to the player to practice his game according to the coaches plan for the team. So weird Lin fans blame everyone for lack of Lin's own personal improvement.
Heypartner, There was a Rocket back in the day who defensive coaches had strategies against and forced him to improve his game. Here's a video of that player. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/Mcae_NBtkb4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> People defending him : David Robinson - MVP Dennis Rodman - Rebounding champion, multiple defensive player of the year winner Hall of Famers, Not Mo Willaims or Mario Chalmers
lol Dantoni's offense is heavy on guards but unfortunately it is among the worst offenses imaginable to compete in the NBA.
Everything always has everything to do with money even if you don't explicitly say it. That's because of the basketball cap, I don't think there's any doubt Lin is better than Canaan however considering the difference in salary the Rox are better off dumping Lin (and his toxic fans) and putting that money elsewhere.
One reason Lin struggled in his time here was the pressure to score when he gets the ball. He's at his best when he's given time to operate, to make decisions, to pass or to score. But playing with Harden, he's given no room and time to make decisions, all they're saying to Lin is "when you get the ball, score or if you can't then get rid of it/ pass it". It creates tremendous pressure on him to score immediately when he gets the ball. Lin had to adjust from his natural ball style as the playmaker to scorer. You all who play ****ing PGs here should know how hard it is if ball is taken away from you, and you're told to camp, wait for the ball, just shoot or slash to the hoop when you get it. --- I will remember yall as the [Hank Moody's voice]mutha****as[/Hank Moody's voice] who gave a first round pick to trade: 14 mins of offensive highlights, and this is Part 2 from the same uploader. How many seasons for Beverley and Canaan combined to make a 14 mins of offensive highlights video? 10 seasons?
lol why video dont work https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmL-Sudrr9I
Lin starts to play a lessor role because Rockets no longer needs a player like him after Harden joined. It's never about whether he is better or not than Bev. He is REPLACED by Harden. The way SG plays on a team has changed.
1. lin was signed by the.rox as a pg to play with kmart and lamb and have another mediocre season with lottery asoirations 2. harden replaced k.mart and lamb and instantly made the rockets contenders with championship aspirations 3. lin was given ample chance.and.time to limit his turnovers especially jumping ghe air without no where fo vo, have confidence in his 3, and play in your face D. but he failed all those
Majority of Lin's TO does not come from jumping in the air with nowhere to go. It's a media narrative. He was extremely good at the beginning of the season in 3pt, but that did not get him more playing time or starting spot. His journey at the 2nd is determined at the beginning of the season. His performance at one game has little to do how many minutes he plays the next game. I do not have to remind you that he shut down Lillard the forth quarter in game 6. Or go check the minutes Lin played the next game after he got his triple double. This applies not only to Lin, but also to DMO and other bench players. Rockets never had a consistent second unit last season. Let's not pretend that we were using the regular season to develop the team.... if you take a look at the minutes the players played. Rocket has a significant drop in minutes and increlase in fluctuation from starting 5 to the bench, compared to other teams. I buy in Clutch's point that Lin still needs at least another season. While he is definitely a player with many weak spots, let not pretend that Mchale was even doing an average job in minutes management and team development. We can all blame Lin's inconsistency on himself or Mchale. The truth is probably somewhere in between. Lin is gone now and there is no point to continue this polarized discussion about Lin himself unless someone just wants to troll. The discussion, in my mind, should be about what the coaches should do next season to get the most out of the bench players, which Mchale failed miserably.
lol No Lin was always inconsistent and was given too many chances to excel. He never could get better. You are just a Lin fanboy that goes around being an apologist for him. Pathetic.
