Do you post anything other than Jeremy Lin now these days? He is not even on the team so give it a rest, you make veterans of this board sound like shell-shocked crazies having post traumatic stress disorder due to "LOFs". Because if their goal was to rile up and destroy this board it has definitely done its damage now that even after hes gone, people like you still hold heavy grudges over the player and his "fans".
Oh how lin polarises this whole forum... All op did was to point out in his/her opinion that we lost too much (picks) and gained little in return in this particular trade. If the topic read "rafer Alston trade disgust me" we wouldn't have this much name calling, back and forth. It's quite humorous and sad at the same time...
He brings out the best (worst of the and the best) and the worst in people. Credit that to hype, media, marketing and a two week stretch that enveloped a nation. Regardless, you're right. Lin is a volatile topic for getting people off track.
Jesus I thought Lin was traded somewhere else, this page still goes 18 pages with a 5000 word essay on Chinese American history never change
Jeremy showed some pretty good potential with his assists. He might have made a good proper point guard if we'd attempted to develop him into one. However, his 3-pt shooting, while better than last year, still wasn't up to the level we need for the gigantic emphasis we put on threes. He has two moves to the lane. One is to charge in and lay it up at the last possible second with no concern for how he falls. It's often effective, but it's reckless, and he's going to severely injure himself some day. Teams see that. His other move is to drive to the lane, pick up the ball, and get swarmed with the three-seconds counting down. He looked like he was getting a little bit better at not picking the ball up by the end of the season, but it should have been that way from game one. His defense seemed to be strictly average, even though he did get a good number of steals. He knew he'd have huge things to prove to justify his bloated salary. He had games and spurts of excellence, but he didn't really make the case to even be brought back as the starting PG, so paying a bench player that money was just an unfortunate boondoggle. Jeremy seemed to have a lot of heart, but I honestly can't see any particular aspect of his game that would make any other team in the league go out of their way to pursue him, whether they could afford him or not. He needs a defined role as a facilitating PG where he has some time to develop, and maybe another team can give that to him, and he can shine in that role. However, for some reason, that's not how the Rockets are set up, so it just became clear he wasn't going to be one of the critical meshing components of this team. I feel kind of bad for him (well, as bad as one can feel for someone making that amount of money). He was the true victim of the Linsanity hype: overvalued in his prime, so, instead of getting to grow and get better, he became a liability as soon as he couldn't live up to the huge expectations immediately placed on him. With no discernible role, no developed specialties, and a poison contract, our biggest trading success was simply going to be to offload him somehow and free up his contract for cap space. It's just how business works sometimes, and I've seen it a lot with my own eyes: you hire with high hopes, but it just never works out no matter how much you try to make it work. The best solution at that point is just to get rid of the person, period, even without having a replacement in hand.
Lin is the best thing happened to Rockets since slice of bread. Now they're left with toilet papers. The truth will come out next year.
JLin is not long a rockets but lin haters follow him to the lakers forums lol wtf wrong with you guys?
jesus christ we all complained about how Lin had made the GARM unreadable and now we've got posters who apparently wanted Lin gone to clean up the place screencapping freaking lakersground???? hypocrites
Nah, its the same old bashers. About 10 of them. Only inhabiting lin threads. Wouldn't be surprised if all those accounts are linked to a couple of people with multiple accounts.
SemiSolidSnake just posted an excellent dissertation of Jeremy Lin a few posts up. Only 24 posts to date, but nice to see someone put predjudice and racism aside to give a logical evaluation of JLin's basketball related value.
