The rap music was better in the 80s and 90s

People who hate the 80s and 90s listen to Lil Xan and mumble rap

I think the physical nature of the 80's and 90's, would have been too much for Lebron to deal with, unless he had a lot of help.
That's not a knock on his skill level, athleticism and high IQ.

yes! thank you for the clarification.

jordan and kareem both have 6 rings, but jordan was the FMVP for all 6, which actually means a lot more than just the ring count. kareem had 2. i also think jordan's DPOY sets him apart. no other player in the GOAT convo has a DPOY award. of course that award didn't exist when russell was around or he'd have a bunch of DPOYs and FMVPs.

but as i've been saying, jordan, kareem, russell... all tier 1 in the goat convo. you can make a great case for any of them. no one else is really in that convo yet. tier 2 would be guys like duncan, lebron, magic, kobe.

There is still quality hip hop out in 2018 but of course its the type that followed the format of the 80's and 90's being original creative writing innovative beat picking

that mumble crap is for the birds

Keep in mind though, many players from the 90s probably couldnt play in todays league either. Way too fast for slow bruiser types who couldnt shoot....

Beating a dead horse but man no one has any chance of beating this stupid Warriors team. We have to work so hard just to stay in the game and the Warriors score in the flash of a second...

He didn't even dominate the 2000s bruh. It wasn't until guys like Kobe and Duncan were at the end of their careers when Lebron started winning anything. Hell he and his loaded super team even got dominated by Dirk and the Mavs in 2011.

The only thing he kind of ever dominated was the pathetic eastern conference.

If he was in the 80s or 90s he would still end up "needing more help".

I saw that. It was hilarious as he said that Ryan Anderson subbed in. All 20 million of his salary to do what Steve Kerr did, but worse. Haha. He was obviously talking about HIMSELF and not the entire league as a whole. Steve Kerr was drafted 25th in the 2nd round and played 17.8mpg for his career as one of the greatest pure shooters ever. Not like 20-30 years ago he was some superstar lottery pick averaging 30ppg and playing 40mpg. Horrible example. Scrubs like Dellavedova play 20+mpg in his career today for example. Kerr would be just fine. IT is 5'9 but really probably even shorter and averaged 29ppg last year. Anyone that short was just a role player back then. Kerr is 6'3 and doesn't need muslce or hops, his stroke will still be there just fine in any era to be a 15-18 mpg 3 pt specialist just like he was in the late 80s into the early 2k's and a role player on 5 championship teams.

Again. It's ridiculous how yall continue to pretend like the difference from the 2010s to the 90s is the same as the 90s to the 50s and 60s. Steve Kerr was still playing with Tim Duncan ffs, even Zach Randolph who is still playing. Old Jordan was playing against most of LeBron's best competition. He retired a season before LeBron started playing. LeBron was born in 84. His biggest influences in the way he plays are 90s players. MJ. Penny. Grant Hill. Even went to train with Hakeem like Kobe, Dwight, Melo, Amare, etc.

Kobe Bryant on 80/90s basketball - "The truth is, it makes the game [where] players have to be more skillful. Nowadays, literally anybody can get out there and get to the basket and you can't touch anybody. Back then, if guys put their hands on you, you had to have the skill to be able to go both ways, change direction, post up, you had to have a mid-range game because you didn't want to go all the way to the basket because you would get knocked ass over tea kettle. So I think playing the game back then required MUCH MORE SKILL."

Tracy McGrady - "The league is so young and they have no skills. They have athleticism but no skills. Half these guys wouldn't be able to play in the league when I first came into it (1997/98)."

Ron Artest, 2004 DPOY, on who is the hardest to guard out of Kobe, Lebron, or Jordan
"Jordan, definitely. Jordan's the toughest because he's strong as Lebron, he shoots just as good as Reggie Miller from the midrange... and he's a killer out there on the court"

Steven Kerr, Courtside Interview after the 1st Quarter of Game 1 - "There's no way I'd be able to play in this league today, these guys are so good."

80s/90s players trumping their era up, SHOCKING.

Btw you still haven't given me a current field where all the experts were better 20 years ago than today.

The guy retired in 2003 which is not that far away..... lolz.....his skill was to shoot, if he bounced around with bad teams, his career would be over soon.

Not true, not only does a player in the GOAT discussion have DPOY, he is the only player to ever win DPOY, MVP, and FMVP in the same season.
