CSN counsel not optimistic about being able to get the deal done in time for preseason, but the Judge thinks it's possible to get it done
So does anything change as far as the network itself? I've always wondered why these channels never seem to have 'control' as far as what to air and what kind of shows they have on. You would think they would air Clutch City and Double Clutch for instance..
The teams wouldn't agree to that. That puts them in pretty much the same spot they've been for the past two years (40% of Houston market), only with AT&T/DTV instead of Comcast. If the Rockets and Astros are backing this proposal, it's because it's something that will significantly help their situation.
I don't want them on more TV sets. The less bandwagoners the better. Y'all diehards can listen on the radio or something. I was already happy, now I'm less happy.
Not only would the teams not want to do that, but DTV and ATT wouldn't want to do that. They would be in a situation where they weren't getting carriage fees on Comcast customers. They don't want that either. Why purchase it at that point when they've already demonstrated little to not real issue with not carrying the network in terms of subscriber loss. They want the revenue.
Awesome news. I just got Comcast installed yesterday, pricing reasons, and the channel seems pretty sweet. It's like sports center but with a houston focus. I imagine it's like living in New York or Boston and watching ESPN. Everyone should be able to watch their local teams.
Also, essentially AT&T and Directv are going to be the same company if the merger plan is approved. So I wonder will throw another wrench into this issue...
