http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2013/11/17/its-getting-late-early-in-cleveland/ Guess Houston isn't the only team dealing with these issues. I wonder if Morey has interest in Waiters (or Bennett, even) as a "Thomas Robinson" kind of target.
Waiters was a complete waste of a pick last year and he caused the Cavs to make yet ANOTHER mistake THIS year by passing on Oladipo and drafting a likely bust in Bennett. If he's flaking out and quitting on the team, that would make him a triple disaster.
I thought the tenet was "draft the best player available, irrespective of need" Guess the cavs never got the memo
Irving/Oladipo/Barnes could be their guards/wings. That would be a fun trio to watch. Add to that Tristan Thompson (or, as I would have chosen at the time, Valančiūnas), and you're on the way to becoming "the" up and coming team.
Dion Waiters is a talent, BUT...ballhogs, ball dominate, hero-ball type player. I've seen many occasions where Kyrie Irving was frustrated because of waiters.
"Illness" is on the rage in the NBA nowadays? Aren't there better excuses for not wanting to play? Lolol but seriously, the pick of Waiters raised a lot of eyebrows everywhere. He definitely shouldn't of gotten picks that early and in front of guys like Barnes, Drummond and even Lamb and Ross. Cleveland has such an inept front office in my opinion.
Yeah I'm surprised they didn't draft Darko_Milicic instead of lebron. Joe dumars wtf were you smoking homeboy???
http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nba/1969/dion-waiters he left thursdays practice and hasnt been back since.. he'll be alright. he's not a bad pick, but yeah coulda had drummond.
Dion has really only dipped in his paint scoring %, which is very UnMorey like in the type of players he loves, however has you can see his corner shooting has improved so shooting should not have been the rreason for the benching. Also if you look at his ratings, they have dipped on the offensive end, however Dion's defensive rating and rebounding has improved for the sophmore. I have hope that he turns into a solid starter in the NBA, however i woudlnt want to trade for him because of the size of his rookie contract scaling being a top pick or as bill would say " Dion was the first overall pick"
The biggest success in Cav's recent drafting (after Irving) was Tristan Thompson. Not that Thompson is all that great, but they are alleged to have offered that pick for Rudy Gay, which would have been an enormous disaster.
