Did we just dump the last guy we acquired this offseason.

I agree that I'd rather have Ennis as depth rather than nothing, but I think Morey felt forced to make that move when no one would take Nene's contract. We had to get under the tax... it's sad but I think necessary.

During an interview on the ESPN broadcast of the Rockets-Clippers game, Houston general manager Daryl Morey said the franchise's focus this summer is to acquire players who will outperform their contracts. ... "We need our best team on April 15. We're going to either sign or trade or something to get us back to where we need to be ..."

 

the summer signings didn't work out, but morey course corrected and brought in some good players to replace them.
